Money well spent
The ignition on 30-year-old truck started acting wonky a month ago. Truck started fine, but key would not fully return to 'run' position after starting engine, which resulted in being unable to move the column shifter out of 'park', unless I pushed the key cylinder in, the then manually turned the key back slightly. This happened more and more frequently, until one day (thank God it happened at my house), the key got stuck in the 'run' position, and I had to pull the fuel pump fuse, and then disconnect the battery, to shut the truck off. Thankfully, I had already ordered this part, and bought the two special tools needed to do the job (steering wheel puller, and steering wheel lock plate compressor). The part has no instructions, but there are plenty of YouTube videos. Not too hard of a job on my pre-airbag truck. It was the best $30 bucks I ever spent. The key works smoothly, in all positions, and no more having to jiggle/play with the lock cylinder. It also goes into 'accessory' position, which the old cylinder did not. In all fairness, though, the original cylinder lasted 30 years, so that's pretty good. Do yourself a favor, and go with this OEM part, rather than an aftermarket key cylinder. Do yourself an even bigger favor, and don't wait too long to do this job, if you notice your ignition is acting wonky, or else you may find yourself stranded.

Perfect Match OEM Ignition Cylinder and Key
I replaced Ignition Key in my Chevy Astro Cargo Van. This was a perfect fit. Quality seems good. It turns smooth and pretty much plug and play swap. It comes with two keys and no instructions of any kind. Very easy to install once you get to the point where you can locate the locking screw which holds the lock cylinder in place. Overall I am very happy with this product. Recommended to every one.

OEM is the best!
Even though the other aftermarket lock cylinders are cheaper in price, they all come with generic keys that say, “For GM Cars” on the key. This OEM (ACDelco is the aftermarket supplier for General Motors, after all) lock cylinder comes with keys that only say “GM” on them and are identical in look to the original keys that came with my 1986 GMC s15 Jimmy. The fit and finish of this lock are perfect and it returned the function of the signal that “your key is still in the ignition”, a feature which had gone away with the old cylinder. Another plus is that my key can no longer be removed from the lock while the vehicle is running, which is obviously a good thing! Of course, installation of this cylinder will require two specialty tools (steering wheel remover and lock plate compressor—which can be rented at any of the big auto parts stores) and a little bit of mechanical ability. Not for the novice or faint hearted, but is easily within the abilities of any DIYer.

Fits 90 Corvette with a little modification
The cylinder is just a little shorter that the original on my 90 C4 Corvette, use a file on the groove where the lock pin rides in the groove to hold it in place, it works without doing this but does drag a little, I had already bypassed the VATS so it didn't have to use the much more expensive keys witch it called for, hope this helps someone, very nice GM switch

Worked for my 1991 S-10 pickup
I had a broken cylinder on my '91 S-10 pickup. Had to take the steering wheel off to tighten the bolts in the back so decided to go ahead and replace the ignition cylinder. The cylinder is easy to install once you get the steering column apart and this part has worked perfectly for over a year.

Buy a steering wheel puller!
First off a steering wheel puller and lock plate compressor will save you a world of agony. About the switch. The key cut is difficult to put the key in. It pulls out easy though. Also could use some lube when being assembled. Otherwise function is perfect and got rid of my (wiggle the key for 5 minutes before it finally turns so I can start my car) issue. P.s. white lithium grease helps with the key insertion problem.

Perfect fit
Worked just fine. My old key and cylinder had locked in the on position. Watched a YouTube video on how to replace it, ordered the part and then followed the videos directions. It worked perfectly!
