UPF 50+ Sun Hats with Flap Neck Cover

This hat is perfect! It's lightweight, but creates a good shade, and the cover in the back is nice. It fits great my eight year old daughter (admittedly, she has a pretty large head for her age) and me and my husband. It's unisex and looks great on all of us, so can be used by any of us on trips. For a price, this is a wonderful purchase -- greatly recommended for adults and kids.

My husband and I absolutely love these hats. They are exactly what we needed for the hot sun in Florida. Very lightweight material and great coverage. We need to shade our forehead and necks and these are the best. A bonus is the adjustable cord under the chin that keeps it in place. The company that makes these also included a special gift and card which was totally unexpected. It was a pretty papercut bookmark. Made my day. We will most likely buy more of these and I would recommend these great sun hats.

Life saver when I do site inspections and in the field work here in Florida.

I use it when I'm fishing. The threads are good quality and not coming off. The neck flap is a life saver and a must when fishing all day on a boat. Its a one size fits all. The neck flap covers all of your neck and part of your shoulder. If you don't like or need the neck flap you can tuck it under the hat or cut it off.

I ordered this because I thought it would offer good sun protection, but the material above the brim is so thin, you can see objects through it. It is not much thicker than a handkerchief. This is not a problem if you have a good head of hair, but if you don't, it offers about as much sun protection as a handkerchief on the top of your head. This is a problem with many sun hats - where the material above the brim is too thin. You can't see this problem in the product photograph. So the description UPF 50+ is only accurate fro the brim and the neck flap - but not the top. If you have a head size of 7-3/4 this fits nicely. It is hard to find hats that size, and another reason I ordered it. Also there is a problem with the neck flap in that it doesn't come far enough forward. It will cover your ears, but not your cheeks. Nor will it protect your eyes at a low sun angle. I returned the hat for a refund because it is totally useless for my purposes. I already had an "Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero Hat" which you can buy on Amazon that fits well. It has excellent sun protection above the brim, and breathes well, and is Gore-tex. It is sold on Amazon here: Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero Rain Hat, Khaki/Java, X-Large What I have done for good sun protection in the tropics is to use the "OR Seattle Sombrero Hat" along with a 27" x 27" olive green bandanna under the hat. For best sun protection the bandanna needs to be 27x27 inches - not the standard bandanna size. A bandanna that size is big enough to provide good neck protection and I can bring the bandanna far enough forward to protect my eyes, ears, and cheeks. It looks a bit funky, but it does the job.

Quality and price comparable.

My husband really likes this hat for when he is outside. He has a large head, almost 5 7/8 size and it adjusts to fit him nicely.

This hat was a great purchase for me. I work as a mail carrier in the Texas heat and it provides nice protection from the sun. It protects the back of my neck from sun burn and is also light weight and cool, breathable too.
