Makes great fish chowder

This seafood stock is definitely a GREAT base to use in any dish requiring a seafood stock. Great flavor and once you add your own spices like I use for my catfish stew, it takes the dish over the top. The issue I had and as evident by other reviews is the lack of basic protection for the cans for shipping! Every can had a dent. Not sure why the shipping department couldn’t just add foam dividers in lieu of the thin, flimsy cardboard ones they currently use. Some cans were dented more than others but they all got it and one looked like it was bludgeoned! Poor can. 😏 Overall the product in the can was worth the assault on the cans with luckily no spillage.

For canned fish stock, this is the best tasting. Mild but fresh. We use it in seafood soups and for recipes that call for clam juice when we're out of the Bar Harbor clam juice (though not the same it's a close enough substitute). We stock up on this stock so it's always on hand.

Made the most amazing Fish Chowder with this seafood stock! I was about to give up on my quest for making delicious fish chowder thinking it was just my poor cooking skills. Ingredients is key!! With sizable chunks of fresh Cod, this fish stock did not overwhelm the mild Cod fish and the clear color did not turn the soup murky.

Best fish stock around. Deep flavor. Kosher if you need that.

I LOVE this fish stock; all my fish chowers are enhanced by using Bar Harbor Fish Stock. Sometimes I can buy it locally at about half the Amazon price, but sometimes it disappears and I order from Amazon. It is about double the price when I buy through Amazon, and I can put up with that (if I must), but this recent delivery, which arrived 6 cans double boxed, EVERY SINGLE CAN WAS DENTED. Poor showing. Disappointed.
