This is a good product with a solid design and quality welds. However, the clearance in the piston cylinder is slightly too high, which causes the dough to be pushed back toward the push rod. I was able to squeeze out 3 to 4 idyappam per filling. Refilling is much easier compared to the old threaded apparatus, as the sieve stays in place and the piston can be easily retracted backwards. Overall, the cylinder steel quality is good, and the joints are spot welded. After two uses, I noticed it's started getting rusty. The spring, pushrod, etc, are not made from food-grade steel, and they started to corrode. The rod got many cuts during the operation, which indicates a lack of material hardness and poor design.
