Bright! And minimalist projector perfect if you know what you want.
I've been using projectors for about 15 years now. My latest was the Hd146X, I had it in a bad location and it regularly overheated and crapped out after 2 years because of my own fault.I bought the HD39HDRx as a direct replacement for it. at the time of purchase it's only $30ish or so more than the 146x so I figure i'd try it.Things you should know, it has minimal features. Most significantly Keystone! you can ajust the keystone if the project is higher or lower than center, but if it's (significantly) left or right of center DO NOT BUY THIS PROJECTOR!! There is no LEFT OR RIGHT KEYSTONE.Also if youre using it for gaming and need to use the heigh related keystone the keystone is disabled during gaming mode. Which is really weird. The Hd146x allowed for gaming mode and keystone. So basically if you can't have your projector close to center vertically and horizontally, any you're expecting to use keystone don't expect alot out of this. It's a height reletated keystone only, and it looks like a digital keystone which means it will crop the image, so you'll lose imagine quality the more you keystone. If keystone is not a problem, and you can position your projector accordingly this bad boy is BRIGHT as heck! I would consider it one of the best value's on the market for a bright 1080 HDR projector. If keystone isn't a issue I would not hesitate to get this thing, for budget home theater/gaming.IT IS BRIGHT!!! the brightest project i've ever owned, and should suit most peoples needs. It's even too bright at night with my screen. So the eco mode is more than bright enough for me.That means savings since the bulb will last longer. The bulb on my previous optoma projector lasted longer than the DLP chip 2+ years. So I expect it's entirely possible this projector's bulb will last the estimated 4years. I would be happy with 3 though.I've only had this projector for a few days, I'll update it if anything changes, but I really wanted to comment on the keystone situation for anyone considering this projector.

Pretty good
Purchased this projector back in 2020 and have close to 4k hours on it so far. Here’s a few things you should know before purchasing.1) When switching between apps, games, video source or even just clicking a menu or home button it’s very common for this projector to pop up a blue screen for around 8-15 seconds. If you’re looking for a very fast, smooth and top notch projector this ain’t it2) the projector gives off a considerable amount of heat, I live in the desert and already have enough of that so I used a window AC unit to combat the additional heat3) it’s a good projector, I’ve used it on 20ft inflatable screens, big garage doors, large walls and most commonly my projector screen and it has always displayed a good image. I’m very happy with the lumen output, refresh rate and easily customizable display settings but I have to say at this price point I do believe there are better options out there so I would urge you to keep looking.

Buyer beware of false claims of lamp life
This projector is mostly quiet and looks good but do not be fooled by the 15,000 hr lamp life claim as I was. A year and 1 month after purchase the lamp crapped out. And guess what. The manufacturer only waranties the lamp for 90 days. I ran a little math and if it had been on for a whole year that would have still came under 9,000 hrs... so they might as well say it lasts a gigilion hrs if they dont have to back that up with a warranty right. I thought ahead knwoing bulbs are a projectors weak point and bought 3 years of extended warranty through Asurion. Short story. Dont waste your money on it. Long storry after jumping through hoops for them for about 5 hrs my persistance paid off and they emailed me a lable to send my projector out to get repaired. A week and 3 days later i received my projector back cleaned and with a note that stated "customer must replace bulb". Guess what. They dont cover bulbs. Isn't that great. Learn from my mistake. Know that, while the picture quality is good, you are buying from a company that won't stand behind their grandious claims. do yourself a favor and don't shell out the extra 50 some odd dollars for a 3 yr cleaning contract that takes years of your life due to the stress of just trying to get your warranty honored. IMHO Optoma and Asurion both suck and are permanently loosing a customer and gaining bad publicity.

My first projector
Ok first things first, I get my delivery, open the box after a few days, looks like a new machine, but I don't have a lens cover, I thought that was a standard piece of the projector to cover the lens when not in use.Now let's get to the projector. The Hd39HDR Optima Projector. Like I said I'm a new projector owner, I have always dreamed of having a setup like this at home since this is what I really like doing. Right now I'm watching the Nets vs. the Hawks on my 92 inch Elite screen. But let's get back to taking it out of the box and sitting it on a table in my basement turning it on and being amazed by the picture it showed on my wall (white walls). The picture is sharp and bright. I have a basement that has a backyard patio door, lots of light in here, but yet I can still watch during daytime hours, so I guess that means it has bright picture, the picture was sharp on the wall before I put the screen up. Haven't had a chance to mount it yet so it's still sitting on the table and with the screen the picture is even better. But this machine is not 4k, but it does give you a nice HDR picture. So far I really like this projector.I'll let you know how it goes with mounting it to the ceiling. But I still have to ask where is my lens cap?
