Hi, Unfortunately not this one but if you look for the Vision HD+ Focus (red, red flashing) or the Vision Ultra (red, red flashing, green) then there is an independent button for the night vision modes. I hope this helps. Thanks

I suggest you contact the manufacturer. I doubt that any regular consumer would know the answer to that type of question

Q: How much does this headlamp weigh without the batteries?

Between 2 and 3 oz. It was 2.96 oz on my scale with the packaging on. I returned it because I decided the Black Diamond Spot Lite was a far superior headlamp, definitely worth it to pay $10 more for a more compact and brighter light with more functions.

Q: I am looking for a headlamp that is good for reading--even light across the page, not a bright spot. Would this work well for reading?

I think it would work one the last setting (keep pushing the button to the desired setting) which is the two outside lights not the big bright one. The first two are the spots and the last setting is two outer lights the beams overlap each other so that the light is more dispersed. So, I went into my rather dark hallway and it worked great! I took a magazine and there is no spot, just light. I held the magazine at different arm lengths and there was no shadowing and plenty of light coverage on the page.
