Good Quantity &Quality. Dwarf Hamster approved!🐹
I bought these for my dwarf hamster named Henry. This bag is pretty big and has a lot of mealworms for the price. It's one of the fuller filled bags of treats that I've bought, and I definitely appreciate that. These will last a long time for a hamster. I was also pleasantly surprised by the overall size and quality of the worms. From what I can view, it seems the majority are full sized. Of course there are some broken pieces, but it's not overwhelming at all. These kind of feel hollow, although I'm not sure that that's not normal for dehydrated mealworms. I'm not an expert in mealworms, so I'm not sure if that matters, but thought I'd at least mention it in case someone is looking for that info. In fact, this is my first experience with mealworms. I almost didn't think I'd be able to stomach finger feeding these to him myself, but knowing these would be a great treat/supplement for Henry, it was easy peasy once I was actually faced with it.😅 Definitely nothing like I imagined. After researching food and treats specifically for a dwarf hamster after picking him out, I learned that some of the treats that I originally bought preparing for a hamster were not healthy and most were way too sugary, especially for a dwarf hamsters in any of the different species (Campbell's, Winter Whites, etc.), because they are prone to diabetes. Fruit can even be too sugary for them. I learned the yogurt drops and similar treats aren't great for any hampster, and of course I had already bought a couple different flavors and types of treats in this category. I thought I went crazy buying stuff before getting him, but probably went a bit crazier getting A LOT of different healthier treats, supplements, and chews after getting him, loving him, and researching more, along with realizing that he is a picky hamster that doesn't care to chew on any of his wooden toys, furniture, apple sticks, alfalfa sticks, etc, which he needs to do to grind down his ever growing teeth. These mealworms won't help with grinding his teeth down, but are probably the healthiest treat/supplement I got, along with the seed mix I found. These do come with a ziploc seal, which is great for freshness and storing. The great thing about these mealworms are that they provide additional protein, so if he's getting a bigger treat or chew that day that is lower than the 20-22% in protein of his pellet food and could take up more of his total intake of food that day, I make sure to give him a couple mealworms to boost his protein so he's not deficient overall. I actually try to give him a couple almost every day. You can feed them too many and make them fat, so I definitely try to space things out and not give additional things every day. It will probably take me forever to go through this bag, especially considering dwarf hamster's live an average of 2yrs. I am no expert by any means, but I have researched diligently over the last few months, so I just wanted to share some of the knowledge I've learned. I wish I had stumbled upon some of the articles and forums in my previous research because I definitely waisted money on things that aren't healthy or that he just doesn't like. &I'm not usually a health fanatic or anything, but after picking this cute and sweet little guy out for our family, I just realized how much I wanted to provide him the best chance at a happy and long life. I must mention, Henry absolutely loves these, too! It doesn't matter if he's asleep, he will climb out of whatever hideout he's in to see if I've got his favorite. If he doesn't pouch it in his cheeks, he'll gently take it from my hand and sit up, holding it vertically with both hands while eating it from top to bottom. It's just the cutest thing ever! I'm honestly really glad I bought these and I definitely recommend them. Not just for hamsters, but any small animal that benefits from having non live mealworms in their diet. I just hope my experience and my pictures will help you in some way and give you an idea of what to expect in person.

Quality Mealworms
The Carolina Wrens in my backyard love these mealworms. A bit pricey per oz.

Pigeon Loves These.
My wingless pigeon loves these. Hates wild bird seed except for the sunflower seeds. He will tip the bowl over to tell me to put more worms in. Get two bags at a time so when you open the second bag order more.

Great quality and my birds love it!
I’ve purchased this product multiple times and it never disappoints. The mealworms are clean, dry, and attract a variety of wild birds to my yard. Even my chickens enjoy them! The price is reasonable, especially with the discount. Highly recommended for any bird lover.

😮💨
Lord I feed the outside birds occasionally and I'll tell you they scream at me when their bowls aren't filled. And I was definitely hearing it for a full week when I ran out of this stuff and switched to soldier worms since they're cheaper. Don't make that mistake! Just get the mealworms! They eat it up. Even though this is a small pack for the price, the birds will appreciate it

Five-Star Dining for Backyard Birds
The birds go absolutely feral for these — in the best way. Clean, good quality, and clearly a favorite based on how fast they disappear. If you’re trying to win over your bird visitors, this is the move.

They don't smell very good, but the birds are crazy about them
I like to provide a variety of different bird feed in my feeders (hoping to attract a wider variety of birds), and I love mixing these dried meal worms in with suet nuggets and bird seed blends. The birds love them, and you get a lot for the money. My only gripe is that dried meal worms smell bad, so whenever I open the package, I have to hold my breath. You might want to do the same thing. They really don't smell good. I know that there isn't much anyone can do about the smell, so I didn't deduct any starts for the smell, but I did think a warning might be appropriate, in case you have a sensitivity to unpleasant smells.

We got these mealworms to attract some more kinds of birds to our backyard and that is what happened. We got thrushes, woodpeckers, lots of chickadees and a wren. We already had blue jays, northern cardinals, several kinds of finches and, of course, lots of sparrows coming to dine but most of those prefer seeds and nuts. It was an experiment that worked.
