Look u can’t go wrong with his books and I haven’t had a bad meal out of any of them or his restaurant actually soz bit of a fan boy but all good if you want great ideas but the books if not it’s chippy tea again

Like some others, I hadnt appreciated this was an American edition until it arrived. On the whole this is fine as the recipe has cup measurements but the equivalent g or ml side-by-side. It's a bit annoying as it middles the text a bit but is totally doable plus sometimes I like to cook savoury food by cups anyway as it feels less effort. Some ingredients are American but they are mostly the typical ones that everyone knows eg zucchini, eggplant or rutabaga. I've read that the US version has some replacements where ingredients aren't typically available in the States which concerns me a bit but hopefully it won't be too vastly different. I don't have any other Ottolenghi books for comparison. The volumes are not hardback as others have noted but I find this helpful as they fold open in my recipe book holder more easily and the quality is good. The cover is a kind of dense but malleable card and nice quality, so if that concerns you on reading the reviews don't worry too much. Overall the printing is good and the books seem very good quality. The two volume set is a good bargain so worth it on balance for a few differences.

Good book set, well written and great photographs. My only gripe is that these are written for the American market. I understand many of the ingredients but they’re not always available in the UK. Pomegranate seeds are used in many recipes for example along with various spices. It would be helpful if alternative ingredients could be suggested.

Both books are damaged. They don't stand up right due to damage on the corner where it's clearly been dropped and there is a large indent right on the front of the book. This was a gift and now looks like I'm giving a second / third hand bookset. I'd like a refund.

Books say they are hardback but they aren't, it's more like card. Very misleading abd can't return as came from the States

Meraklısı da 5 dakka bakıp "aaa çok teşekkür ederim, seni seviyom kocişim" diyip sonra bi daha bakmicak. Ha bi not, bu sosyetik aşçıların tariflerinde genelde otuz çeşit malzeme kullanılır ya. Bu setteki Simple kitabı öyle değil. 5-8 malzemeden yapılan tarifler var. O malzemeler de hibisküs tozu kreması, taze kesilmiş japon rokası sapı lifi filan gibi garip malzemeler değil. Daha normal şeyler.

I was excited to receive this set since the books look great and the recipes seem really nice. However, I regret not paying attention to a previous review that mentioned the package arriving damaged. Unfortunately, I experienced the same issue, and it’s frustrating to see it wasn’t just a one-time occurrence. The books themselves are good, but the poor packaging and shipping experience really spoiled it for me.
