YUM YUM and also YUM!
I only learned about this type of pepper recently when I was studying recipes for foods from India and Thailand. This type of pepper popped up twice on recipes that I thought would be excellent recipes to try. Because I grow my own southwestern and Mexican peppers as well as my own basil from multiple varieties (Italy, Africa, Thailand), I definitely know that sometimes the very special experience of a specific recipe is something as small as a single ingredient. So I knew I had to buy this. I have been delighted! Not only do I use it in the recipes I bought it for, I have also used it on things like scrambled eggs, adding a pinch to a sandwich, using it with pasta and tomato sauce, and even dropping some in a lemonade. I can tell you that the friends and family that I’ve cooked for and shared this with even in simple things like pasta have really remarked upon how it has an extra added flair. This pepper is not too hot, but the heat it does have is very short-lived compared to the heat other peppers. It gives way to a very sweet and smoky experience that really is difficult to describe and is exactly why you should buy it and try it.

Just The Right Amount of Heat
This stuff has just the right amount of heat and flavor. If you haven’t had Kashmiri chili powder before it’s like the best paprika you’ve ever had but better. On a heat scale of 1-10 (10 being hottest) this is a 3. Mild but very tasty and it also adds a terrific bright red color to any sauce. Highly recommended.

Excellent warm chili powder for Indian Cuisine
After watching some cooking shows and drooling over all the beautiful middle eastern dishes being showcased, my husband and I decided to give some recipes a try. When we go to Indian restaurants, my favorite to order is Butter (cashew) Chicken. I’m actually allergic to chicken, but I load up on allergy meds and eat it anyway! We found a fantastic recipe on YT and have been making it every 2-3 weeks for the past year or so. This is an essential ingredient in Butter Chicken. At first I didn’t think there was going to be a difference between Kashmiri Chili Powder and the regular chili powder I can get at my local market or big box store, so I used the regular American stuff to begin with. Then I found this stuff here on Amazon and decided to give it a go. I was wrong to assume there was no difference. Kashmiri chili powder is a much more mild heat - just a little warm. Gives you a little tingle in the throat. It doesn’t burn and it doesn’t leave a heat on your tongue for too long. I won’t make Indian food without it. So good! I first bought the small bottle, but we went through it in about a month, so I ordered the bigger bag. Yummmm!

Good choice for Indian spice
Good quality and nice packaging. Expiration date is far enough in the future to be able to use up the contents. Used this to make Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala - yum! Rani is a good brand and would recommend.
