I bought this and the "Dwellers in Darkness" expansion for a LOTR superfan as a gift. We greatly enjoyed how these add to the experience of playing the game with the named figures, and the extra items for the game.

Great detailed miniatures, but there are only three of them and they are specific characters (boss characters) that won't be used very often. Not an essential purchase to enjoy the game.

This is a good first expansion for the Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-Earth but I felt when I bought it I over payed as I found it in my local games shop at a cheaper price. I don't know whether this has or will drop in price but I would be inclined to shop around. I felt for what I paid for it there wasn't much in the box. Lets just say its a good expansion if found at the right price.

Although this is not mandatory for you to play the base game, it's a very nice little expansion, not to expensive and grants your game more things to do! As we love to play Journeys here in my home we brought this one and it was a great decision!

Great figure + cards pack! Worth playing with since game 1, lots of fun!

A small figure pack (Gulgotar, Atarin, and Coalfang) with some additional cards for the Bones of Arnor campaign from the base game. Also used in the digital DLC campaign Hunt for the Ember Crown. The figures are of excellent quality. I consider it very good value for approx AUD$20- 3 figures, some cards for use in 2 campaigns. Get it.
