If you're getting serious about bread baking, then a proofing basket is a must. They let you use a higher water proportion in your dough and lead to lighter, more open-crumb textures. These baskets are as good as any. I mean, come on, it's just wood sticks: the requirements are that they hold the dough and don't add weird flavors to your bread. They perform on that level and are easy to clean, maintain, etc. With these and some clay baking pans, you'll be able to make rustic batards just as good as your favorite bakery.

Poor quality with splinters all over the inside. Not a well made banneton but not sure what I expected for this low price. It works but you have to first clear the interior of splintered wood.
