I've tried a few pastes over the years and I've never really been 100% satisfied with any of them. I eventually settled on using Axe's messy hair look because it gave my hair volume and it is relatively inexpensive. I eventually grew tired of Axe because it left my hair clumpy and it was difficult to style my hair with the product. I had been looking to getting Pete & Pedro's paste until I watched a youtube video review stating that both the Pete & Pedro product and the Mister Pompadour clay are basically the same product. Mister Pompadour offered free shipping so I gave it a try.The product is not cheap at around 20 dollars, but it is worth every penny. After trying the clay, I feel like I'm finally living in current times. The product is easy to apply, it gives my hair enough volume to cover my receding hairline, and my hair stays put for most of the day. The clay also washes off really easy. I have noticed that you will get a stronger hold if you apply the product to wet hair and then blow dry it. Again, the product is quite expensive in my book, but it is worth every penny, especially if you want that messy hair look to deal with loss of hair.

Supieror hold, Matt finish, nice smell. Washes out easily, can remold hair style with only your fingers. Worth every penny especially if you have thin hair.

Everything Mister Pompadour promises in the description of this clay is true and correct. It really delivers on all the points including enhanced texture, solid hold and increased perceived hair volume. My hair isn't thin but it's not super thick either so I definitely benefit from the latter quality.The only reason I deducted a star from this review is the price. You get 2 oz of product, which is full 1-2 oz. less than what you get from competing products. While this is a superior product, it's not exactly 2x-3x better than the competitors so I find the 2x-3x price hike compared to other clays out there unnecessary and dare I say, greedy. Having said that, you only need a little amount of it to get pretty good coverage so it is quite efficient.

I've tried a lot of different products - this is by far my favorite. Of course application and use is half the battle, so here’s how I use it: I run it through damp hair, massaging it into the scalp and then pulling it through all the strands of hair. I blow dry afterwards.Depending on your hair type it gives enough hold by itself to style your hair without adding anything stronger. Keeps a very natural look. Love it.Can also use it as a starter, and then add a little bit of a stronger product in the places you need.

I like their beeswax paste, but I won't buy this one again. When I hear something called "clay", I think of something thicker and very matte. This is more like a cream, does not have a strong hold. I'm sure it's good for certain hairstyles or hair types, but not for me. I feel like it should be called something different than clay. I do like this brand though, and their beeswax paste is my favorite hair product.

Not what I wanted and cannot return. I would not recommend

I read several reviews before buying this clay pomade. I was looking for a product which would create hold and volume without being heavy and no women's products seemed to come up oddly enough and I don't care because Mister Pomade is all I had hoped for! When I put the product in my hair then blow dried, I had controlled, wonderful body that lasted through a night's sleep (I shower in the evenings) and, with a little more product after styling in the morning, lasted all day.This stuff is amazing!

I'm not sure if this is a traditional clay because it's a lot different then other clays I have tried. This seems closer to a paste or cream. It has light hold and has been great at adding volume to my hair. I apply wet and then blow-dry with a brush.Their website has a fantastic selector for which product you should use for your hair. Some people are expecting high hold for thick hair, but that's not the sculpting clay.
