Dorman 911-777 Vapor Canister Purge Valve Compatible with Select Ford Models

Purchased for a 2016 Ford Focus that was displaying code P1450 and was reading fuel remaining incorrectly and would have difficulty starting after fuel was added to the tank. Also had a loss of power and was shifting at higher RPMs. Added this line and evaporated canister in 5 minutes and cleared up all the problems and codes. Car runs great. Easy to install, works great

Bought for my car, again. There has been a recall on these for my car since I bought it in 2013. This part has been replaced by that recall at least 4 times. I have had to replace this twice myself, because I only own one car and work way too much to be able to take off a day again and find a dealer to replace it. This lasted a year and a half before I had to replace it again. My car is a 2012 Ford Focus and I bought my car in 2013 with only 570 miles on it. I still have my car and it's about to hit 239,000. It fit great, so it's a great part for the price, because I know they can be higher purchased elsewhere. Thank you.

Fit perfectly in my 2012 Ford Focus SE but... Installation is a pain. The difficulty has nothing to do with the part itself but the way the Ford manufacturers have designed the engine bay and how they have chosen to locate certain parts. All in all it is a great product and resolved the error codes that my OBD2 was reading. I would suggest watching some YouTube videos (which I regret not doing) on installation before attempting.

This is the second time the OEM purge valve had to be replaced. The first time was for the recall affecting the latest generation Ford Focus (mine is a 2016 Titanium hatchback). 2 weeks after getting the recall notice the original failed at about 150000 miles. It failed again at 207,000 miles (yes i'm a long distance driver...700 to 900 miles a week). Contrary to what a lot of people are saying you really don't need to remove anything in the engine bay to replace. 2 long screwdrivers is all that's required to pop the clips off the tube on the intake side of the valve. The other side is easily accessible near the firewall. The Dorman uses a squeeze type fitting so no tools required for installation. Just reuse the original metal mount since the new one comes with a mount easily removed from the rubber isolation bracket. Took all of 10 minutes start to finish to figure it out and complete the installation. 10,000 miles on this new one so we'll see how long it lasts. And in case anyone's wondering, yes i've got 217,850 miles on the orginal DCT clutch : )
