I was very dubious about buying this product, I was worried I would break the controllers but the ugly neon joy cons had finally taken its toll and I took a leap of faith and purchased these joy con shells. It really does take 3 hours to complete, it isn't difficult when you follow the tutorial video as you go, its just a little fiddly and requires patience. If anyone is unsure just watch the tutorial video first on YouTube, it shows the process isn't as fragile and daunting as originally anticipated and demonstrates how "rough" you can actually be with the innards of the controller. 100% pleased, highly recommend and actually consider purchasing the main console back plate to match the joy cons.

They're super easy to install, if a little finicky. Plenty of tutorials available online. They design is beautiful and the spare screws/tools are perfect.

Overall this was a really good product! The finally version looks great on my switch and has a nice feel to it. I was so intimidated after reading the reviews about installation difficult that I watched several tutorial videos before the shells even arrived. I think that because I was so prepared, it ended up being easier then I expected. I ordered my own toolkit after seeing review about how horrible the included screwdriver was, but the included screwdriver actually ended up being the supreme one. The Philips head screwdriver piece included was magnetic, which made it a lot easier to get the small screws in and out. Not sure if this is a standard change for the kit, or if the type of screwdriver varies with what they have in stock. One thing that’s not included that I would say is an absolute MUST to get for assembly is anti-static tweezers. There’s lot of small delicate parts where your hands just won’t cut it. Finally, even though I like the end product, the quality of the shells wasn’t quite what I expected after reading all the great reviews about the company. There was chucks of the design print that was accidentally transfers to the inside of the shell, and I had to scrape bit away to make sure it didn’t flake onto the inside pieces in the future, as well as to clear up a few screw holes. The left joycon shell had a few mistakes with how the holes were cut for the minus and screen capture button. The cutouts looked a bit ragged, and not the clean-cut looked you’d expect. It’s barely noticeable in the finished product, but I definitely didn’t expect it from a company with such glowing reviews. Maybe I just got a faulty product. These couple of issues are what lead me to knock of a star from my review, but overall I think the product is still the superior option on the market, and if you have the patience and dedication to installing it, you’ll find it completely possibly to end up with a wonderful final result.

You need to be an electronics engineer or have tiny hands and magnifying eyesight to put this together again after you change the skins. I have tried and it still doesn’t work. Maybe a dislodged spring or a button in the wrong way round. Don’t rely on the video either. It sucks.

Replacing the joy con cover is quite fiddly as you will have to deal with dozens of tiny screws, components, and circuits. Surprisingly, we didn't break anything and the end result was awesome. Will probably buy more colors.

I thought it was the electric parts but it was the shell and my brother who built his PC couldn’t figure anything out

We sat and changed one of them over which took longer than I thought it would but well worth it to see my sons face. Very nice finish he is well impressed.

They looked good but I didn’t realise they were just covers so had to send back. Could be me not checking properly but I felt they weren’t described as covers and so created much disappointment on Christmas day.

Die Holz optik is super, und seitdem ich die neue Shells habe, halten die Joycons wie besser und wackeln nicht mehr rum.

Ces coques de remplacement sont vraiment de très bonne qualité.Meme en utilisant les anciens boutons ,tout s'adapte parfaitement... Quelques petites bavures à rattraper lorsqu'on détache les nouvelles touches mais rien d'insurmontable. Et le plastique utilisé donne un petit aspect "soyeux" à l'image de la Nintendo Switch Lite ce qui rend la prise en main légèrement plus agréable que les coques d'origine de la Switch V1. Je recommande cet article à ceux qui veulent redonner un coup de jeune à leurs joycon...

I have been eyeballing this company and their products since I got a switch during the pandemic. It came with two Joy-Cons that were nigh unusable because their drift was so incredibly bad that playing with them was impossible. This purchase was part of a 100% repair on said Joy-Cons, with a button and shell swap included. They're like new, they feel like new, and the shells are gorgeous. They're slightly matte, incredibly soft, and fit like a glove. I could not be happier to have Joy cons that not only work, but fit the aesthetic of my turn-of-the-century furniture. The tools they include are much better quality than the ones I received with the actual joycon replacement parts. It was worth the wait. This purchase was 3 years in the making, and I don't regret a second after seeing how pretty these things are.

Great quality. Has a bit of a soft grip touch instead of the slippery type plastic. The brushed steel doesnt look printed or cheap and actually has a bit of a metallic shine to it. Very impressed with the quality. I bought the tool kit just in case but ended up figuring it out with the tools it came with and the YouTube tutorial. This was pretty challenging and time consuming so if you dont have the patience to spend a couple hours on this then I dont suggest trying. My boyfriend and I did it together mainly because I have smaller fingers. There are VERY small screws and some tough parts to maneuver around, however, the product is exactly what it says it is and has an amazing tutorial video. I will be buying another set!!

Das Auseinanderschrauben der Einzelteile und das Umsetzen in die neue Schale ist etwas zeitaufwendig aber machbar. Mit den kleinen Schrauben und Federn muss man geduldig sein, jedoch funktioniert der Umbau mit Anleitungen von YouTube hervorragend. Design und Tasten funktionieren einwandfrei.
