Enersys (Hawker) Cyclon 0819-0016 D-Cell 12 Volt/2.5 Amp Hour Sealed Lead Acid Battery

I had to replace the battery in my Honda HRX 217 mower. The original battery was an Enersys 0819-0015. This replacement battery is the same voltage, capacity and physical size. I have had this battery for about 4 months and still works after one charge. Highly recommended. This replacement battery does not have the wiring harness needed to connect to the mower. You will need to unsolder the wiring harness from the old battery and either solder it directly to the new battery or add the appropriate connectors. I soldered connectors similar to the ones found here on Amazon: Dorman 85488 Yellow .250" Female 12-10 Gauge Interior Terminal Disconnect I have posted a picture showing the new and old batteries and lengthy video showing how I replaced the harness. After transferring my harness, it started my old mower like a brand new machine. I really appreciated the video that was posted on Youtube; thank you. I elected to cut the wires off the old battery, and use quick connectors to connect to the new battery. This made the wires a little short and if I did it again, I would unsolder them first as was done in the posted video making the wires the original length, however it works great in spite of my shortcut.

This battery is the exact size and volt/amp ratings of the original battery in my HRX Honda self-propelled lawn mower. The only thing keeping this product from earning a FULL 5-star rating is that soldering equipment and knowledge is VERY LIKELY required. There is an excellent video review by "stan" showing the process, and indicating the extra materials likely needed to complete the transfer of the power wiring from the original battery. It's not a difficult job. If it were possible, I'd say the rating for this replacement battery is a solid 4.5!

This battery is the ideal quality replacement for an electric start Honda HRX217HZA (and similar) lawn mower that does not have built-in charging (in this case, a Honda HRX217K3HZA). It is essentially identical to the OEM part, except it is not furnished with the required wiring harness... but doesn't have the hefty price tag either. As other reviewers have mentioned (including the instructional video by Stan) the factory wiring harness needs to be removed from the original Honda battery by desoldering both +/- terminals. After removal, it can be reconnected to the new battery either by soldering or using mating female quick-connect crimp terminals (0.187" tab width); the latter is preferable since it allows easy battery replacement should this be necessary in the future. The economics could not be more straightforward. As of this writing, current online battery pricing (incl. tax, shipping & handling): OEM Honda 31500-VH7-B01 = $102.88 / Cyclon 0819-0016 = $42.94 Savings = $102.88 - $42.94 = $59.94 In other words, you can replace a Honda HRX217HZA battery for roughly 40% of the OEM part, and about 15 minutes of your time, making this an easy decision. For those with the technical skills and tools, the reward will be a machine that starts as though it were brand new. I ordered this battery and it would not start my Honda Mower! I hooked it up to my Honda charger and it would not take a charge! I ordered a new charger and put the battery on the new charger, and still nothing. I took the Battery and Both chargers to Battery Plus and had them checked, the Technician said that the battery was dead and there was nothing they could do to bring the battery back to life. I ask him if my old charger would have shorted the battery out and he said no! He said the place you ordered the battery from sent you a dead battery. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a battery from this site😢. I plan on filing a dispute with my Credit Card Company!

Yeah the battery was easy to install and no more pul starting just turn a key well worth the money

It fit well and worked well.

Same size and connections as OEM. Charged up with no problems. Just cut the leads at silver soldered terminals and use crimp on terminals to connect new battery, starts right up.
