Desktop Delight
I haven't had or needed a desk pad for a number of years and started out looking for the traditional ones with paper inserts into pockets on both sides when I came across this. It just arrived this morning and I sure wish I'd been aware of these earlier. There is nothing on/in/about it that detracts from anything on the desk, the walls, the decor - it can't, it's transparent, but it's not cheap thin plastic. it's nice, high quality, flexible plastic and will be good for working AND writing. I love it - so glad I accidentally came across it!

Not worth it, buy it in person, product was damaged.
This was not worth $24, I think I'd be satisfied if it was around $8 and less because it's defective. The plastic is not very thick and it arrived with two large scratches. I think it's just better to purchase something like this from Office Depot in person.

Nice but for $30???
$30 seems a lot to pay for basically a thin piece of vinyl. I don't know where they get "extra heavy" from. But that's what you get for your money. I needed some protection for my desk to replace the standard type desk blotter and this seemed like a good idea at the time. But now I think back at how much I paid for it and it's not worth $30.

Not what I expected, damaged and now my mouse won't work.
I was expecting something else I think. I wanted a clear hard acrylic piece for the top of my desk. This is somewhat a thick piece of flexible plastic.CONs-It is frosted *not* clear. I wanted clear so I could see my pretty wood desks.-It has a horrible off-gassing smell that is giving me a headache.-I ordered 2. One arrived with a burned-looking, bubbled mark (manufacture defect, not shipping) the spot is smaller than a dime but it shows up.-It has some linear "dots" across it like bad window tinting.-This is the worst one.... I cannot use my iMac wireless mouse on top of it! I have to set a piece of paper down and use it on top of that.PROs-Will keep the desk top from being scratched until I can replace it with something better looking (and smelling).Overall not happy, should have spent the money for a nice leather desk pad.

works well, mouse drags though
The desk pad fits and protects my desk perfectly. I have an old executive desk with a huge top so this was perfect for my writing and work area. It's durable and cleans well. Only two issues of note: I still need a mouse pad because my laser mouse drags on the plastic; placing pictures directly below the cover will destroy them so I maneuvered around that by slipping them into ziplock sandwich bags, cut off the closure and taped the plastic back. The pad keeps everything from moving on the desk but will move if you put too much stuff underneath and push it. Otherwise it works perfectly!

Perfect for my desk
I wanted a larger protector for my new wooden desk, but everything I was previously finding was either too small or too expensive. This protector was perfect, because it was larger and still covers the main (ie, writing) portion of my desk. I got it primarily because I got a new desk in my home office, and I was updating the space. I like to have family pictures while I'm working, but I didn't want them hanging all over the walls or on my computer screen. With this protector, I can keep my few pictures, a small calendar (which by the way, comes with the protector) and important notes within view without covering the beauty of my new desk. The plastic has some give, which I like while writing, so those looking for a solid, glass-like surface should look elsewhere.

Ridiculous
Mouse won't work. You have to use an old school mouse with the rubber ball on the bottom if you want this pad to work for you. Otherwise, if you rely on modern technology and have a mouse that uses a laser light instead of a ball underneath, this desk pad is worthless.

Not unhappy...but not 100% satisfied either
It isn't quite as clear as I had hoped. But other reviews told me to expect that. It's hard to keep clean, everything leaves marks on it.
