Super happy with these, they were exactly what I needed! I purchased these to keep my garden from drying up while on a week-long trip. They arrived in perfect condition. I used wine bottles, and filled them on Saturday morning before leaving. The week was incredibly hot, temps in the 80s and 90s the entire time and not a drop of rain. When we returned the following Saturday afternoon, not only was everything still alive and well, but many of the stakes still had some water left! The only plant that was a little unhappy was my citronella, but she needs a lot of water, and she made it through the week and perked right back up when I filled her planter. I used 3 stakes in a 4'x4' raised bed, 6 stakes in a 28"x8' raised bed, and 1 stake in the pot with my citronella plant. The raised beds had cucumber plants, tomato plants, pepper plants, and lots of herbs (rosemary, dill, thyme, etc.) and everything was perfect upon return! NOTES: I watered very heavily the morning I left prior to filling the stakes. Also, prior to putting the stakes into the garden I soaked them in water. When they're dry out of the box they absorb a LOT of water, so soaking them ensures that they don't drain the bottles prematurely. I also filled each stake prior to putting the bottle into it.

This is the second purchase I made of these watering spikes. Our home is very dry in the winter and these help to keep moisture in the soil. They are somewhat delicate so be sure to create a large enough hole in the soil so you don't have to push real hard and force the spike in.

Does not seem to last a week, as described, but, maybe my soil is dry. The major problem that I had is that 2 of the devices broke upon the first use.

Not having a green thumb these work great! I don't have to check for moisture as often because they do the job. They are easy to insert into my plant pots and they hold a just enough water that I can check every 2 weeks and not 1 week. For the price since they are TerraCotta they are well worth it.

I like the idea of these but several have already broken in the ground so I have had to replace them. Other than that I like them.

Just be aware they are very fragile so dig the hole first before placing the ceramic waterer, then lastly carefully place the bottle inside.

Saved my garden on vacation. I did have to use 3 with wine bottles and while I thought they would work with plastic bottles... they don't really. Beer bottles or wine bottles are best bc of the long neck. However, these were the best value for me in terms of how many I needed and cost, and they were great. I dont know what some people are doing to break bc they are sturdy. They also came packaged very securely. I would have given 5 stars, but I feel the picture in the Amazon listing with the water bottle is a tad misleading. The directions say to use long neck bottles.

These are wonderful for helping to keep my house plants watered while we are away. They DO wear out after awhile, though, and they break. I bought them a second time because they are useful and I use wine bottles tipped upside down full of water to create a slow drip into my pots. I will continue to purchase as needed.

Bought these as hides/breeding caves for my plecos. I like that these came in a wider diameter so they'll be able to "grow into them". Although not purchased for their intended use, I was worried some may come broken but the packaging was more than adequate and all made it safely to me. I have a few left over so I'll likely pop those into some of my larger houseplants to try. Seems to me to be a well made product.
