Supreme Malt Mother of Vinegar

I received the mother timely and as described. I added it to a container with the recommended amount of dark beer about 3 weeks ago and it is looking very good. The mother has multiplied and looks and smells very healthy. Can't wait for a few more weeks to begin testing.

I wanted to make a malt vinegar that is light in color. When I looked at the photo of this it was light in color, you can clearly see through it. And it shows a pellicle in it also. I'm including a photo of the photo in the Amazon listing to make my point, and in case they change it later. What I got was as brown as mahogany, totally opaque, I couldn't tell if it had a pellicle in it or not. I slowly poured it into a mason jar and discovered that there is no pellicle. I filled the jar up with a light color beer and it is still dark and hard to see through, see photo of the quart jar that looks like tea. It at least smelled like vinegar, but it sure isn't what was advertised, or what I wanted. Hopefully, in 3 months when I try it, I'll like it anyway. Hopefully. I would not recommend this to anyone since it is false and misleading advertising

Made some tasty malt vinegar with this and some Guinness export.

A bit disappointed. This is nothing more than raw vinegar with mother. Expected to have a nice pellicle to work with. The mother works well, and has the proper flavor profile desired

This is more a question than a review.... my malt mother had a big ol booger in it...is this normal? It was quite funky smelling too. Not sure where to rate this....

Pretty used to making vinegars. I followed directions on this to a T and it turned into a yeasty cheese smelling mess. There is no way to contact the seller for advice.

Jar leaked everywhere

Product arrived in excellent condition. Placed in crock with 3 bottles of dark beer. Within days, the mother had covered the beer.
