Just what I needed after reading a couple of darker stories that, while good reading, left me needing something lighter. This had everything I like, good characters, a solid basic storyline, great setting & sweet dog. You won't be disappointed!! Review: A heartwarming story of growing as a person. - I loved the book! The plot is so very interesting and keeps your attention. Prosper sounds like a wonderful place to live and to grow up. I do have to say that I was shocked when I read the author's credentials! There are a lot of errors that should have been caught in editing! Some serious research would be a great benefit for this author. Some examples follow: •Natural gas is not provided in a tank!! It comes through a pipe and is delivered through a meter to the building. PROPANE gas is delivered by a truck, stored in a tank on the property and refilled as needed. •Cable and internet are rarely available in a spot as remote as the farm in this book! Prosper is too small to support a grocery store, police department or high school. The residents mostly live on remote farms. Wires for that are costly and usually not provided. Some remote areas have satellite internet available using a "dish". •A Buffet does not have a glass top though some people do place mirrors on the wall above. It is used exactly as its name states, a buffet to serve food. A China cabinet has a glass-front top piece that holds dishes. •Strawberries do NOT grow in clusters! •Bended is NOT a word. The correct word is bent! •One does not go AT an auction but rather, they go TO an auction. They are AT an auction once they arrive! As I previously stated, this is a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed the book but cringed at some of these glaring errors. Literature should always be as close to perfect as humanly possible since the written words will be a around long after we are gone. We have no excuse to leave a legacy of slouchiness or ignorance. Ms Lageschulte has tremendous potential but I recommend she hire an outside editor since it is difficult for people to catch their own errors.

Excellent reading!
This series is new to me and did not disappoint! Set in a rural area where life is different and interesting! There are many new and different challenges to overcome as our heroine has a life altering change from her job in marketing to farm life in rural Iowa. The ending was riveting! I’m looking forward to reading the next book!

Mixed feelings
While this gentle story of a woman at the crossroads of her life is a pleasant read, I found myself wanting more in the way of story development. Forced by a work redundancy to find another way to earn a living, a family emergency sees her set herself up in Smalltown, America - a life she left behind as a teenager. Sadly, although there are a few beautifully descriptive and evocative passages, the story drags along and I found it difficult to care about the outcome. The author has called this the first in a series, so perhaps the plot weaknesses are tightened up in the balance of the series. But I won't be finding out.

Loved this book
I am so tired of picking up a novel with cursing and vulgarity. This book was a delight to my soul. It's an easy read. There was no strong formulaic plot, but there was character arc. There was suspense and tragedy as in real life. I won't detail the story. That's what the book does! I will say I didn't see any blatant grammatical errors, and the scenes made me feel as if I were there. Good book, a delight to read, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Transferring from the big city to rural life
When you lose a successful career in a big city because of a sudden downturn in business, you take your skills and learning ability and move to wherever opportunity takes you. In this case it was from Minneapolis to rural Iowa, working in a rural hardware store and running a small family farm caring for sheep and chickens and a family dog. Book was a pleasant change from the usual mystery or crime books definitely capturing rural life, caring neighbors and the unexpected weather. Great read. First of a series.

This is not for anyone who likes a riveting book! But, it is informative!
I read all the books in the series in order. This is a romance. It is about a mid-age woman and her life change after being laid off from her dream job. What I enjoyed were all the characters, who were not perfect. I enjoyed the small town feel that I would like to think are most small towns. How everyone worked together. I learned a lot about farming and country life. I grew up in the big city in Los Angeles County. I have always said I'm a smalltown gal in the big city. I loved the young and the old relationships. I miss all my elders that are not here anymore, and it reminded me of so many of them. If you love family and the trials that happen in small town America, then you may just love this series as much as I did!

I loved everything about this book. The character was totally believable and easy to relate to. The storyline was not your usual girl-returns-to-small-town plot, which was refreshing and enjoyable. Of course, I need to get the next book because I can't stop wondering what's next. So, even though it wasn't stressful/suspenseful at all, it was a wonderful read and I'm looking forward to more!

Lovely feel good book. Very comfortable to read. Great description of life in a small farm seen through the eyes of a beginner. Lovely tale of animals who you grow to love and really care about. The author is new to me but I shall read anything else she has written. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
