Perfect Mid-Sized Workhorse—The Boos Quality Without the Bulk
I finally upgraded my old bamboo board to this Boos Chop-N-Slice maple block, and I couldn't be happier. I wanted the famous Boos quality, but the massive 2-inch blocks were just too big and heavy for my smaller apartment kitchen. This 18" x 12" x 1.25" model is the perfect compromise. Why This Board is a Winner: * Ideal Size and Weight: At 18"x12", it’s large enough to handle chopping a pile of vegetables or prepping a whole chicken, but still small enough to fit easily in my sink for cleaning and to store upright in a cabinet. At around 8 lbs, it has enough heft to stay put on the counter without sliding around, which was my biggest frustration with lighter boards. * The Butcher Block Quality: It has that beautiful, solid maple grain that Boos is known for. The 1.25" thickness feels substantial and professional. It’s reversible, which is great—I use one side strictly for produce and the other for raw meats. * Easy on Knives: My chef's knife feels fantastic on this surface. Unlike glass or plastic boards, the maple is forgiving, helping my edges stay sharp longer. The cuts close up nicely, too. * Eased Corners: It's a small detail, but the slightly rounded corners make it comfortable to lift and move without sharp edges digging into your hands. The Reality of Wood Care: * You MUST Condition It: This is the trade-off for having a quality wooden board. If you buy this and don't buy the Boos Oil/Cream, you’re doing it wrong. I oiled it three times right out of the box until it stopped absorbing the oil, and now I hit it with the cream every 3-4 weeks. This keeps it from drying out and cracking. It takes five minutes, and it's essential. * Handwash Immediately: No dishwasher, no soaking. Wipe it down right after use, rinse quickly, and dry it standing up. It's a habit you need to adopt for any good wooden board. Summary: If you love to cook but don't want a massive, 20-pound centerpiece butcher block, this Chop-N-Slice model is the perfect choice. It delivers the professional feel, stability, and knife-care benefits of a Boos Block in a practical, everyday size. Worth every penny for a piece that will last a lifetime!

Functional cutting board
Great quality, heavy chopping board for your wannabe chef friends! Do NOT dish wash this, for the love of god. One time won’t hurt it much but before you know it the thing is cracked and warped like you wouldn’t believe. Take the time to wash it by hand. Otherwise, it’s a straightforward board. The thing doesn’t chop food for you so I’m not sure what else I can review on it. It’s functional

Excellent Quality & Built to Last
This wooden cutting board was recommended by my son, and now I can see exactly why. I use it several times a week, and it has held up beautifully. As long as you follow the care instructions — cleaning it properly and keeping it dry — it feels like it will last forever. It’s very well‑made, looks great on the counter, and is incredibly durable. I’m extremely happy with it and highly recommend this brand.

First time I bought and it warped, shame on me. Second time can't fool me again.
I have bought two of these cutting boards because I have heard they are the best, longest lasting. Food safety matters to me and I try to limit how much plastic I have in my kitchen. The first cutting board, $80, warped terribly over the course of a few months. I thought this was from my own neglect so I reread the care instructions and bought a new one. I bought the new one and followed the care instructions exactly even paying for the Boos branded wood oil and cream. This second board has warped in one month of having it and following the instructions. I have spent $200 now on two useless cutting boards and I'm sure I could have spent less than half of that on a different brand and still accomplished my task of keeping a plastic free kitchen. The paid promotions/influencers who use Boos are just that--getting paid to promote. As a regular person, I do NOT recommend.

Grateful
Absolutely fantastic product. I feel the quality when I use this USA made cutting board and that quality helps me prep for the perfect meal every time. This is the best cutting board I have ever owned. This wood does not damage the cutting edge of my knives, is easy to clean, and very sanitary. No microplastics here, all natural! By far one of my best purchases this year, because I just want to use the board every opportunity I get which means eating healthy and saving money from eating out. Plus, I’ve become a way better cook since owning this board due to the extra time I spent cooking! One thing I will say is that you need to oil this board regularly. The owner’s manual says to oil every month, but sometimes you need to do it maybe every three to four weeks depending on how much you use it. If it feels a tad dry, just quickly slap a little even coat on that baby and rub it in. If you properly maintain, this cutting board is built to last and will be the last one you’ll need.

Large chop and slice rectangle cutting boards
Boos is heavy duty investment for lifetime cutting of vegetables, purchased mystery oil to keep in tip top shape. High quality, heavy duty, thick. Will be used for vegetables. Beautiful piece!

May warp on you but it's nice otherwise
Nice, thick cutting board. Followed all directions. Oiled and waxed it thoroughly. Did not submerge, washed and dried vertically but it still warped and makes cutting annoying as it rocks as I'm cutting.
