My girls had a colonial festival in their 3rd grade classes. This black and white dress was adorable, even the hat was cute. My girls are of average height and I had to take about 5 or 6" off the black dress compared to the blue and white dress I also bought. The blue dress was fine right out of the bag.Both girls looked beautiful and fit the part for their colonial festival, and now just play dress up with them.

So cute! My daughter needed a costume for her school play and I didn't want to pay a lot for it so I decided to give this costume a try. It looks great! The dress is all one piece and is thick enough that she doesn't have to wear anything underneath. The bonnet is thicker than I thought it would be! It hold it's shape nicely. The photos I took were right after we took the costume out of the package so once we iron it I think it will be perfect for what we needed. I'm very happy with it.FYI: my daughter is 52 lbs and 50 inches tall. We bought the size small 4-6. She won't be able to wear it long as it fits snugly around the elastic waistband in the stomach. She is tall for her age so this dress may be too long on smaller children.

I purchased this for my daughter to wear for a Thanksgiving play, so I wasn't too concerned about quality and more concerned about spending money on something that would only be worn 1 time for 2 hours. I was surprised at the thickness of the materials and sturdiness of the stitching for a costumes so inexpensive. I was expecting the quality to be poor because it was so inexpensive. This costume is the best constructed costume I've bought for this price range. It is a little long but nothing that a few pins can't fix.

Great value! We needed a costume for my daughter's colonial day at school and this was cheaper & easier than trying to make one myself. She was very happy with it and looked adorable in the bonnet.It was true to size but very long. My main issue is it says on the package not to iron or place in the dryer & it comes out of the package with very strong fold lines & some wrinkles. I did use an iron on a low setting after washing and line drying and got rid of most of the lines. The material might melt/burn under a higher heat setting and tbd material does not breathe at all. She got very sweaty in it wearing it all day.

We bought this costume for my daughter for pioneer week at school. The costume looks great and turned out to be very durable. She liked it so much she wore the costume for many days prior just around the house. She also wore it during rehearsals and then during two shows. There was a lot of square dancing during practice and the show. It held up beautifully. She was also the best looking kid at the show. We may use this as her Halloween costume this year. An incredible value at under $20.

Was thankful this was available last minute for a play my daughter was In. My tall 8 year old fit in it well. But there no snaps or zippers or buttons or anything in the back. We pinned it

Great costume and option for school presentations about figures like Susan B. Anthony. My second-grader liked it so much that she stayed in her costume during the entire school day—her presentation was at 8:30 am. Needless to say, she got an ‘A’ for truly chaneling Susan B. Anthony. :) In terms of quality, we did not have any problems—but we made the purchase with the one-time presentation in mind. The costume is still intact and will continue to be used at home for my daughter to play dress-up as she likes.

As another reviewer noted recently, the costume arrived and is made incorrectly. I've exchanged this once because of the same issue, and the second one has the exact same defect. The hole for the head/torso is directly under the white lace apron. The dress is too short because of it up front, and it looks different from the package image (just the apron up front, no black dress part). The back panel of the dress has both black dress panels sewn together at the seam instead of one being sewn to the apron instead. Now I get to decide if I return and buy something else or tear out the existing stitching and pull out the sewing machine because this is obviously how they're all being made at this point. It would be a cute costume for a Thanksgiving play. But don't buy if you aren't willing to fix it yourself!
