Used with VHB for RV solar install
(Duplicate review to the one for the VHB 4950) I contacted 3M and asked which VHB tape to use for installing solar panels (aluminum brackets) to the roof of an RV (fiberglass). They recommended VHB 4950 along with 3M Tape Primer 94. The primer is a lot more expensive than the tape but since I didn't want my panels flying off at 60 mph, it was a worthwhile expense. Simple to install (clean with alcohol, apply primer, apply tape, apply force while it cures) and it sticks with a vengeance. It definitely doesn't allow for do-overs so make sure you get it right the first time. As a final extra measure, I applied Eternabond tape on top of the bracket to prevent water, ice, dust and dirt from working their way under and as extra support. I can honestly say that the roof of the RV will probably come off before the panels do.

Very good ADHESION with 3M Dual Lock Fasteners on aluminum window frames
Primer 94 is a clear thin liquid primer sold in 1/2 pint cans at $20 (which is very high priced). I did have Very good ADHESION with 3M Dual Lock Fasteners on 12 aluminum window frames, along with 12 polycarbonate hurricane panels primed with "94" for the 3M fasteners on them as well. It does go a long way however, and only took three 1/2 pint cans for both the windows as well as the poly panels. Great primer, works well, but just a bit high priced.

This stuff is awesome!
Mainly used this with 3m tape for helmet intercoms and cameras stuck to the side of my helmet. Not once has it peeled back and when taken off it cleans up as if it was never there.(aside from the like new finish next to the sun bleached finish.. Job well done) Less is more when using it and a small paint brush lays it on nicely. If you can use tape as an outline/over splash otherwise a little alcohol and some q-tips work well cleaning up over applied areas. If you don't clean it up after it WILL attacked dirt like crazy but that is expected with any adhesive type application. It's a once shot deal though. Do not pull up your project and try to adjust it. If you need to adjust clean up all the primer and lay down another thin coat. I've used it on helmet cam mounts. GoPro and Sena. Has not moved even after heavy rain. Used it on Hook and latch tape on the back of my computer to mount external HDs that get removed often. Outlasted the tape! Any project that includes tape or vinyl like applications this is my go to primer. REMEMBER to wipe the lid and can or it will gum up after a while and make sure the top is on every time. I kept using the white ring and I still have some left.

the goat for hard wraps and tricky spots!
exactly what you want for hard to install spots this helps areas install that otherwise would easily come out dries in appropriate time doesnt attract dust or leave marks in vinyl after install removing vinyl is only slightly harder the biggest issue is removing the primer, it can be a massive pain in the ass even with rubbing alcohol or gue gon

Excellent product
I had bought some EVA foam for use as traction foam on my two kayaks. The directions that came with the foam recommended this product and I'm glad I used it. I applied two coats of the primer before applying foam to it. So far it has held up very well. I didn't want the foam to delaminate from being in the 105 degree hot sun for hours on end, and this seems to have done the trick. 10/10 would recommend for any foam used in a marine environment. Applied in 2023, hasn't even begun to come off in 2025 even being stored outside. Absolutely recommend.

Was Recommended By Boat Manufacturer
I have a Triumph Boat, the hull is made of (ROPLENE) a marine-grade polyethylene. This is a great boat however, because it’s made of polyethylene the registration letters and numbers won’t adhere to it as well as other materials used for boats such as wood, metal or fiberglass. The manufacture has a special procedure required to secure the letters/numbers to Triumph boats. This product is used to prime the hull first before applying stickers so they won’t come off. It worked great on my boat and I highly recommend it!

Purchased the small can amount (8 oz, 1/2 Pint). Begrudged the price $50 plus for this amount, however I needed this specific primer for an RV Slide out Wiper Replacement on the top portion of slide. Removed the original wipers which were beginning to "rubber rot" and decay from sunlight exposure. Lowest price I could find for this primer was three small towelettes for $20 and 7 days delivery with possible import fees from a USA seller. I think it said possible 2ml per towelette. My experience with towelettes is that most times they are dry out before even opening. There were numerous resellers from China, selling small vial bottle containers, also with long shipping times. In my own opinion, this is the primer that works, old wipers were somewhat hard to remove, but they were probably put on with this primer. Seals themselves had the 3M red tape mounted on back. To get them to stick really well use this primer. Also make sure you get your surfaced prepped well. I used a Whizzy Wheel (sold on Amazon.ca) attached to drill to remove the old rubber wiper residue. 8 feet by 1/2 inch surface in less than 5-7 minutes. Cleaned surface with 50% rubbing alcohol and dried in less minute. Applied primer with a cotton make up pad that the wife let me have for free. Waited 20 minutes to make sure primer was dry from heat of sunlight. 3-5 minutes is probably all that is needed, as it dries quickly. Coating about 1ml, very lightly and one wipe across 8 feet. When applying new RV Wiper seal, remove red mounting tape slowly in about 1ft unwinds. Press and seal using the guide on back of seal until finished mounting. Awesome primer. Wiper replacement finished, at least on top of this slide for another 5-7 years. I will do an update then to tell you how hard it is to remove. 42 feet of RV, Four large Slide-outs, probably 160 feet of wipers to replace in the next year. This is the primer to buy, also Amazon.ca had this small can to me in 24 hours with Prime delivery. Awesome.
