would still be a tremendous value at twice this price
First of all, I have had the same two-tone Rolex 16753 GMT Master for 25 years. So, you can imagine selecting a new watch was a difficult task. The GMT had to be serviced every 5 years or so at about $600 each time and now seems to be every few years.I looked at buying another Rolex and was shocked to find the prices are four times what I paid in the mid 80's.I ran across the Tissot PRS 516 and thought I would give it a try as a good everyday watch. I liked its looks and being a Swiss made automatic.Wow! I am so impressed with the build quality and finish of the PRS 516. I have had several friends comment on how much they liked my new watch. The GMT is 39mm in diameter so, the Tissot is a little larger and the band is also a little wider. It took a few days to not see it as being too large, now it seems just the right size.I have had the watch for a month now and just like other comments have said, the watch did run about 17 seconds fast per day right out of the box and now after checking it several times on time.gov; it is now after a month, running 6.5 seconds fast per day. My GMT always ran about 3 seconds fast per day. I might get the Tissot regulated at some point or maybe not.I read a comment about this watch might not be waterproof and that concerned me so I left it in a bucket of water for a day and I am happy to say no waterproof issues at all.The only critique I have about the watch is that the hour hand is the exact same width as the minute hand and can get lost under the minute hand. The GMT has a fatter hour hand with a bulb on the end, which I prefer.Overall this is a very high quality, well built and attractive watch and would still be a tremendous value at twice this price. I wear it every day now and love it!

Great Watch
Tissot is often mentioned in the prestigious Watch Time magazine as being a maker of inexpensive but reliable and sometimes noteworthy watches. The PRS 516 is a good example of those qualities. It features a sapphire crystal, an exhibition case back (also sapphire), a stainlees steel bracelet, Day/Date functions and Swiss movement all in a very affordable mechanical watch. The watch is large, heavy, but in a good way, and sports an impressive look that can be dressed up or down as dictated by ones circumstances. The Tissot website provides easy and understandable instructions for setting the Day, Date and Time. This is a nice change from having to thumb through a 200 page owner's manuels in 12 languages. The watch rides easy on the wrist and is easy on the pocketbook when purchased through Amazon. The same piece for example retails at Jared for $675 where your best deal will be a 10% discount. This is a great watch at a great price!

Awesome watch but not as described
Awesome watch but not as described. I purchased a new watch and received a used watch with many scratches on the bracelet and case. The box cover shown in the description was also missing. Watch was returned and will re order again. Hopefully I will have better luck.

95% out of 100
i searched for a looooooooooong time. this seemed to be the best bang for my buck. crystal sapphire front and back lens. swiss automatic movement. etc...i have read that these watches run fast. it is true. this watch runs about 18 seconds fast in a 24 hours period. i almost returned it until i did some research. be aware that this is okay. there is a very small screw to tweek the time to run slower. i haven't gotten it fixed yet but i will be bringing it to a jeweler soon. other than that i was very happy. watch looks great. very heavy.also be aware of the fit. it has no "micro" adjustments on the clasp bc its a sort of butterfly clasp. so at first i got two links out. it was super tight. hurt my wrist. next day i brought it and got 1 link put back in. problem. it was too loose and sloppy looking. well i almost thought about returning it bc there seemed to be nothing to do to fix this. then i noticed there are two half links that can be taken out. so there is a way to fine tune it. keep that in mind if you get this watch and find that you can't get it to fit your wrist. mine fits perfect now.

Elegant, but ...
Keeps accurate time and is definitately a masculine, elegant watch, but beware. If you don't wear it for more than 12 hours or so, it stops. I tried to do my homework by reading tons of reviews by others prior to my purchase, but not one person pointed this out. No, I don't believe there's a product defect with my particular purchase. For the money I spent, had I known about this issue beforehand, I would have selected another watch. Let's face it, if you spend more than $100 on a watch, you're buying jewelry.

Too heavy for comfort
I'm used to a watch from another generation, I suppose, so maybe my criticism is something that should be leveled against the current taste in watches for enormity. This is a very handsome watch, but it is so heavy that I think one should buy another to balance both arms out. I don't think I could ever get used to it. I returned it. It's the only item I ever returned to Amazon.

Classic Stylish Timepiece
I got this for my Dad's Xmas present. He was complaining about having to get batteries for his previous watch which was also a Tissot. So I went looking online and found this particular watch which was priced quite attractively, had a clean yet classic look with day and date, and most importantly Swiss Automatic movement which means no batteries. Older people don't like fancy little dials that are confusing and difficult to read. Being a heavy watch is a bonus because my Dad likes the heavier feel. I think I made the right purchase because he loves his watch. When he found out how much it actually costed me, he couldn't believe it as he thought it was much more expensive than it actually was. Definitely a quality piece at a bargain price.
