Great cup holder but.... update!
Update! Michael responded to my photo and review and sent me a new Cup Holster and even included an extra clamp to replaced the faulty one from my first Cup Holster. Top notch customer service. Got the new one installed on the desk and it works perfectly. No leaning cups now. The one I got will not stay anywhere close to level. If you look at the photo, I haven't even tightened it down yet and it's already leaning. If it wasn't in the spot it's in, with the screw part up against a piece of metal, it completely contorts and I can't even tighten it down. Perhaps I just got a bad one but, I'm not ordering another to find out....

very sturdy
got 3 of these for me and 2 of my people for Christmas. My daughter and I go to in person crafting events and with table space being valuable, not mention we wokr mostly with paper the idea of being able to have out cups nearby but not on the table was very appealing. SADLY, these don't fit on the tables that are used at the events we go to. Mine will now have a permanent spot at my home desk where it holds even my 30 oz insulated stainless steel tumbler very solidly. If only it could be made so it could be used on thicker tables (3" maybe) it would be perfect.

Works ok, needs to be retightened fairly often
Deep enough for a Stanley-style cup without fear of it toppling out. The side opening is also good for a standard coffee cup. It’s mostly a moderately hard plastic so it’s not brittle but it can change shape if consistent weight or pressure is put on it. The clamp isn’t wimpy but does seem to need to be retightened more often than you’d expect. It hasn’t caused any marks or scratches, and does the job as expected, I’m just not sure how long it will last.

It does the job well, and is a great value.
Its such a simple thing, a cup holder that attaches to the side of your desk that is deep enough and wide enough to hold every cup and bottle I have tried. You would think that there would be dozens of them to choose from, but there aren't, there's just this one and a couple dozen sellers selling one other one in different colors. Its a good thing that this product is a genuine 5 star device, that being the case, because the other one has some pretty obvious flaws. For those looking for a size comparison, the holder portion is about the same size as the cup holders in my car. A standard 12 oz can sits loosly in it, but the cup is so deep that even a hard bump doesn't cause a spill. It holds a large McDonald's cup perfectly on the other end of the spectrum. I haven't tried it with a handled mug, but I suspect the slot cut for the handle might be a bit thin for some; I would recommend sticking with insulated tumblers instead. The mounting mechanism is an obvious weak point in the design, as it's very thin and the contact point for the "foot" of the screw clamp is only about the size of a dime. However, it did the job just fine, so I am not going to knock them for it.

Works but overpriced for the quality
The product works but it moves a lot no matter how much you tighten the clamp because the clamp arms are made of a very weak plastic. The good - it holds most cups and mugs i have tried in it. The Bad - when you use a clamp on product like this, you generally want to be able to tighten it until you get to the point where it doesn’t move around on the desk. That is impossible with this product due to the weak plastic in the clamp’s arms. Once you tighten it to a certain point, tightening it further just stretches the clamp open more with each turn and actually moves the holder further from the desk by a tiny bit each turn - see picture 1 and then after more tightening see picture 2 (notice that tightening it after a certain point just increases the gap between the table and the holder because it just pushes the bottom of tthe clamp down and out at an angle). Because of that, the product wiggles a lot. This would all be fine if it was priced at about $5 but for $15 there should be something more solid.

Drink holder to go.
Ever have that desk or counter top that you really wanted a cup holder but couldn’t find a way to make it happen. Good news, this cup holder attaches almost anywhere you can imagine that you would want a cup holder. I was so impressed with the ease in attaching these cup holders that I got three of them for my over the bed table to hold my bottles of water that I keep to quench my late night thirst. They are sturdy, secure, durable, and perfect for holding any normal size bottle of water.

Great material
Great product. Durable, great material and it hold well. Even in small places.

Thwarts the tumbler-tossing cat
I ordered this because my cat developed a new habit of chucking my water tumbler off my desk. This has solved the issue. I selected this cup holder because the clamp has enough space to clear the lip on the bottom of my desk. It’s working great so far. No spills, and I only have to tighten the bolt on the bottom occasionally to keep it secure. Well worth the price.

Apart from my tiny tea cups, nothing else easily fits and the screw often needs tightening

The cushion provided to save the table from getting scratched is very sub standard. They just spoilt while screwing only. Tried with both the pieces. If I don’t screw it tightly, the holder keeps moving. Wish the cushion provided was of good quality, rest the product is fine. So returning them back as that’s the only option provided by amazon customer care representative.

The plastic bends and is generally poor quality would be better for the price if it was fully made out of metal rather then whatever cheap plastic they use

I took one star off because it is overpriced for what you get in my opinion. There also are no instructions. It took this klutz a bit to figure it out. I didn't play enough Tetris in my misspent youth, obviously! However, the holder IS sturdy enough to hold a full 30 oz coffee cup. - which takes me to my headline. I have had PCs and Laptops since the early 90s. I have never had a major disaster until 3 days ago when I knocked over about 20 oz of Keto coffee onto my MacBook - Hurray for apple care -but even with apple care my repair bill will be 400.00 Most expensive cup of coffee I never drank in my life. My hot steaming mug of deliciousness shall forever sit in its holster on the edge of my table from this day forward. So help me, God! Instructions for assembly - There are two long slots on either side of the holder. Depending on whether you are right or left handed, simply slide the clamp into one of the long slots and then screw the clamp onto your table. I am using a vintage kitchen table from the 1950s that has a bit of a chrome edge and that caused no issues at all.

A good idea but the cup holder clamp is poorly designed and not strong enough to hold the holder firmly to a desk top. As you tighten the clamp screw it bends the plastic fitting. Poor quality.
