Delivery I purchased to screen from LCDOLED-CA through Amazon fulfillment. The screen had to be imported from the U.S. with an estimated deliver time of 12 days. The product arrived 2 days early. Excellent shipping. Packaging - Amazon Amazon had placed the sellers product into a standard cardboard box without padding. There were slight creases but no punctures in the box and no damage to the fragile contents. Packaging – Seller Being an LCD 15.6” computer replacement screen the seller took great care in protecting the product. It was enclosed in a rigid styrofoam box with a small foam spacer and a lid, which itself had an additional spacer. The screen itself was placed inside of a bubble wrap envelope and the screen had a clear protector which had to be peeled off. There was NO damage to the screen. The lid of the styrofoam box was well taped. Box Contents Besides the screen there was a small sheet with some instructions and photos. The contents of the sheet was useless. It did not have and e-mail address to be able to contact the seller. It did say on the Amazon site that the product did not come with any tools or instructions. The Screen It was an exact replacement for my Inspiron 5578 with touch feature. Finding the Screen on the Web I was able to find it on Amazon and it was the best price, delivery timeframe, customs clearance, and delivery. There was a charge of $8+ to deliver the package to Canada and a customs brokerage fee of $22, both not unreasonable considering I had no work with it. Installation It was an adventure because under the covers these laptops have micro sized components, delicate wiring, and even more fragile connectors that have to be manipulated to replace the screen. Have a good magnifying glass to help with the work, you’ll need it, no soldering is required. Remember as a DIYer you have one chance to get things right and not break anything as you will not be able to buy replacement parts. I found guides on replacing Dell screens online and reviewed them a number of times. There were quite a few so you have to evaluate to get the “best” advice. The bezel seems to be a bit misaligned so all of the retaining hooks in the bezel to do not catch. So there is a small opening between the bezel and the computers back and I maneuvered it to be in the least visible place, on the bottom of the screen. Whether the computer lid is the problem or the bezel is the problem, I don’t know. BTW I had to replace the screen due to Dell’s manufacturing error. The glue used to stick the LCD to the bezel started to leak inside the screen and made it unusable. Screen Quality I am only using this for a couple of days so far. The screen is clear, it only has a 3 month warranty. I’ll see how it holds up. So far I can highly recommend it.
