Just what the thumb ordered
So, I have an overuse injury of my left thumb (partial texting, partial bicycle riding, partial old hyper extension injury). What I need is to stabilize and decrease motion of the thumb so it can rest and heal. My original injury used to be called a gamekeepers thumb (although my tendon is not avulsed). Since I believe in staying with name brands I tried this brace and one by Ace. Both are comfortable, both help remind me not to overuse the thumb, and both have stays, but this one allowed for more flexibility in adjusting the amount of support while still providing some thumb movement, but also really supports the wrist (necessary to adequately restrict the thumb). It also allows for more variation in how much support you create, but even in the looser adjustments still provides thumb support. This brace customizes its fit using velcro closures - 2 at the wrist and one over the thumb. This allows you to create a comfortable fit for the hand yet keep the thumb restricted. You don't need to tighten it way down over the hand (which squeezes the hand) to get the support you need. The stays used in this splint are long (extending from the wrist to over the thumb joint) and are shaped well to place the thumb in a natural but supported position. Compared to the Ace, this is a more robust device, provides much better support and will I think last longer thru washings and extended use. It is more bulky though. I thought about the Grey, but didn't see spending the extra money. In either case it will be obvious that you're wearing a device. I've seen some reviewers of these stability devices say that the device allows for support but continues to allow texting. News flash!. Getting over texting thumb requires stopping the use of your thumb for texting!!! So if that's your goal (to continue texting) this is NOT the device for you because it actually works to restrict the thumb motion in a manner that makes texting difficult to do. In other words it does what it's supposed to!! From a sizing perspective, I believe this device (compared to the Ace) provides more meaningful flexibility for obtaining a good fit with different sized hands. I'm an adult make with moderate sized (7.5 surgical glove size) hands, and there is still lots of adjustment potential both up and down. Conclusion: I really like this device. If you're serious about rehabilitating your thumb injury, I think this is an excellent option. Mueller is a company that's been around a long time. My family has used their stabilizers for other joints as well. They still hold up. Give it a go!!

Sturdy Hand Brace
Fits well, easy to adjust, and feels supportive without being bulky. I can still use my hand for everyday tasks while wearing it. Good quality and comfortable to wear. Knocked a star off because it tends to collect lint easily.

Great quality for the price
Great quality and easy to use. Relieves pain and has great support. Excellent value for the money! I've tried other brands from my medical provider that cost so much more. Would highly recommend this product

Comfortable and Stable
This has been super helpful for my carpal tunnel. It’s comfortable and allows for micro adjustments depending on the type of pain. I’m in that day. It allows for me to get relief for many days at a time. I find it provides excellent thumb support without being too bulky.

Helps with pain
This product really helps with the stabbing pain I have from my thumb down into my wrist. It’s sore to wear at first but not for long. Wearing at night I wake up almost pain free. The fit it incredible. It takes a little longer to put on but worth the effort. It allows enough stability and functionality of hand. It’s not stretchable but does loosen with use- but a wash and dry brings back to a snug fit. I now trust the Mueller brand!

Great Splint, stablizer, wrap.
Very sturdy. If you want a soft, cushy wrap, look elsewhere. I really like this one because I need stability, not cush. Not uncomfortable at all, but really holds my thumb and wrist well. Torn ligaments in my right hand. Love this splint. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Material seems good and the splint is well made and seems to be durable.

Does the job, but Velcro may have short life
I use it on my left-hand thumb. It gave good comfort to the pain at the base of thumb. Even though there are no instructions, you really don't need much as there is no assembly required. However, I faced few challenges. 1) The Velcro at the bottom of the brace slips off and gets on my hand. I have to keep pulling it up 2) It has started pinching the palm portion 3. The Velcro is increasingly becoming difficult to pull off For point #3, I do not use it continuously and definitely take off while sleeping and of course during shower. I wonder if daily pulling on the Velcro has caused it to become difficult to use. Overall, does the job but I think will need to be replaced in about a month. I wonder if that's the life expectancy.

I had a brace to try it out for my diabetic cheiroarthropathy, where there is a steady reduction in flesh on the hands, with the intense symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, along with thumb muscle wastage, amass. There is also nerve damage, neuropathy, leading to painful numbness and a lack of signals reaching fingers and thumbs. I simply cannot fault this product except perhaps for slight bobbling. It holds the thumb in place and reduces pain so much, as I take opiates for this pain when it is out of control. I now simply cannot live without them. I have one for each hand, but you can alternate hands if you want to save money and only buy one. The straps have the labelling along them, so it's better to get them facing the correct direction, once you have reached your final tension required. The main label that advertises Mueller is along the longest strap of the three that there are. To summarise the 3 straps: 1) one strap to wrap around your thumb to the tension that you require - attaches as velcro component so it can stay on the thumb area or be attached to the main body of the brace on the hand; 2) one strap to wrap around your hand, which you extend via the rear side area of your hand, and there is a 'gate' area specifically for this to be achieved to the best fit possible (extremely important and good for security); 3) one strap to wrap along the base of the hand / wrist area, so that the wrist is held in the best possible comfort. It is indeed breathable and I love the warmth that it offers me as my blood circulation is poor after so many years of diabetes. Sometimes my fingers/thumbs appeared really white from poor circulation, but the pain was minimised by this support. I tried to have a break from using it constantly, as I read the customer reviews here and became worried. But I don't really need to worry. It's in use when I do hand muscle building exercises, as it gives the edge that I need to work out, both with Chinese silver chime ball pairs and with stress balls. The only negative that I can see, with relation to bobbling, is that they can get dirty pretty quickly, so need to be washed regularly. For this reason, I honestly prefer having a pair of them. I'm not too dependent yet, but I would much rather use these braces than take opiates (I take fentanyl, so imagine how painful it is). After losing my sole brace at hospital today after my haemodialysis session, I am straight back ordering a new pair of them, so that I can restore my reduction in pain relief use. Honestly, hand on heart, I highly recommend this for any diabetic like me, any carpal tunnel syndrome sufferer, any muscle wastage sufferer, any cubital syndrome sufferer and anyone on dialysis with knuckle pains and spontaneous fractures. I am a small size and it fitted very well. I couldn't ask for a better product for my suffering. I hope that your experience of chronic pain will also be dramatically reduced like I found. This is indeed a product worth paying extra for, that will be worth every single penny. And if you don't look after yourself properly, it's only you who you answer to... Best wishes.

I bought two of these and they are lifesavers. They're super well priced for how well they work. I have really bad repetitive stress injury (I suffer symptoms of carpal tunnel, trigger finger, tendonitis, de quarvains tennosinivitis/gamers thumb, etc) and, at one point, my hands basically wouldn't work at all. I've tried a couple other types of braces and found they weren't helpful for various reasons. These, however, seem to help quite a bit. The velcro wore out somewhat after a while but I use them A LOT so that's to be expected regardless of the product and they still stick pretty well anyhow. I went from wearing them nearly all the time (be careful if you do this as it can cause atrophy) to just wearing them in my sleep. Make sure that while you wear them you are not doing anything too strenuous to make your muscles/tendons fight against the braces to move as this will cause further injury. Also make sure you don't adjust them too tight. I have really petite hands and they fit me well and you can adjust them to be quite large. So it seems they will fit a wide array of hand sizes. All in all, great product, just make sure you use them correctly (as with anything you use). Hopefully they help your hands too.
