Attwood 17720 Seat Swivel, for

I bought this swivel to go on a shop stool that I built. I found this one that had a good price. Delivery was fast. I opened it up and observed the product was well painted and looked good. I noticed the swivel was extremely tight and difficult to turn by had. At that moment I considered sending it back but did not because even if it didn't spin it would work for my application. I JUMPED TOO SOON. Once I installed the swivel on my seat and sat down on it, it spins freely and works great. I guess it needs weight on it to operate. It fits standard boat seats perfectly. I plan to use more of these on several upcoming projects I have planned.

I used this on outdoor swivel/glider chairs because the ball bearings came out of the ones on the new chairs. I ordered these and they work great on the furniture. Easy to install and made the chairs a better quality.

So after reading the one star reviews about how this was junk and would not turn, I thought no way. Yes when mine came I could not move them by hand. Anyway on a boat you don't want chairs spinning like the top on a weather vane, anyway it turns out they work perfectly! Simple guide the screws that come with your boat seat through the NON MOVING swivel and into your seats, tighten with a screw driver through the slots in the NON MOVING Swivel. Then rest the seat on your mount, in my case it is a Wise double seat stand. Per the instructions on the swivel install a 1/4 x 20 bolt up through your mount and swivel, I used a 1 1/2 " long bolt, use a flat washer and then a locking nut and simply secure with a wrench and screw driver. Again for all those who bashed this product, shame on you, you simple are as "HANDY" with tools as you think you are, and that is why you can go to a marine service center and pay for someone who has the skills to do it for you! Buy with confidence, the swivels turn easily when you sit in the chair, but they don't turn so easy that if you lift up your feet, you won't spin around. I bought two swivels and they both worked/are working fine and both would not move by hand out of the box. In the picture I have one chair facing forward and one swiveled to the side. This is a well made produce, ENJOY!

Bought this to use for a hunting stand using a boat seat with a 180deg swivel. The seat swivel I received was very tight and could not be moved by hand. I had to screw it to the bench and attach a long board to it in order to move the swivel. Much too tight for me. Contacted them about the tightness and was sent another one that was a bit more loose. Swivel seems well made and is very sturdy with heavy gauge steel. 5 stars for customer support but - one star for being much too tight.

Easy install and a great price. It has lasted very well through the first season of use, time will tell for thinking run

This is a mixed review. I'm giving 3 stars based on the fact that it seems to perform awesomely and the one I received seems to be a nice sturdy construction. Also I tried to return and replace the one I purchased because it did not swivel??? But Amazon said no need to return we will replace it. So good in the sense that they save you some time in not having to return it. But bad into it that it seems to be built into the manufacturer's end Amazon's business model that a certain percentage of these are going to be crap. If I had been depending on this to be a prime delivery because I have Amazon Prime I would be very upset if I was expecting to need it within three or four days from when I purchased it. Luckily I'm still waiting on another part that accompanies it. Summary colon assume this product works awesomely and most the time will be delivered in time unless I post something to the contrary. But if you were ordering to use within the next 3 to 4 days, be aware of the risk that you will be sent a hunk of useless metal. But they will replace it and then another 3 to 4 days
