Q: what type of staples does it use

It is a 2 and 3 hole punch. There is a stapler as well. It looks to take regular staples. Before anyone disagrees, it’s sitting on my table right now.

Yes you can do legal size paper, that is the longest size paper I have used. I would think that just so the paper fits into the hole punch space the length of the paper might not matter. Hope this helps.Ron

Yes, it is standard. I keep mine plugged in all the time.

No, it won't punch through staples, if you are using stapled sheets to keep things in order it wil punch the paper just so long as you don't go over the 15 sheet maximum.
