This grab bar is convenient in that it pulls down, so I have space to the side of the toilet when it is lifted out of the way. It is very sturdy (due to a good handyman) as it is bolted into a stud & anchored. The TP holder is an added bonus as we had to take out the holder on the opposite wall.

The quality of this product is great, very well built! Welds are all very good and clean. I would have preferred a metal toilet paper holder as opposed to the plastic one that came with the unit, but that is no big deal. As far as being easy to install, I guess that it would depend upon what you are attaching it to, but for most walls (drywall, tile, block) I would say no, it's not easy to install and that you should have a professional install it in order to have a safe and secure installation. That being said, the guests do like it and I would highly recommend this product!

This grab bar has really been a Godsend for getting into and out of a bathtub for a person who has suffered two strokes and has difficulty walking or otherwise getting into the tub. Initially we thought that the professional who selected and installed this device was overkilling. We were wrong. It is well worthwhile.

After researching grab bars for my elderly mom to use when using the toilet, I decided on this product. Sturdy and effective BUT buyer beware, installing it will be not as simple as 1, 2, 3. The holding plate is wide and requires attaching it to a wall stud. I had to move out my stove, cut into the sheet rock in the area behind where the toilet is located, surmise where the grab bar plate would be installed, add wood to serve as foundation for the screws and bolts. When all said and done, the product does work and is not intrusive once flipped up. Would recommend but with an installation warning.

Ordered this for my Mom to avoid falls from toilet. It was relatively east to install though needed to add additional bolts and peice of wood wider than than the plate to assure installed in studs for increased sturdiness in event she needed increased stability. My Mom finds it east to raise and lower and likes the access to the toilet paper. This is a much better option to grab bars. If you are concerned about forward falls from toilet this is an excellent option. Added safety and piece of mind.

My husband is 6'1" and weighs 266. My contractor installed this for us. Must be put in studs. He installed a 2"x 12" board so we could put it where we wanted. We've had it over 1 year now and it has been a huge help for him getting out of the shower. It is installed outside the shower so he can grab it, instead of the shower door to balance.

After looking at different stability bars, this was our choice for the bathroom. The toilet is too far from the wall and with the addition of the toilet paper holder it made perfect sense. The wall mount bracket requires a wider brace than a regular stud. We had to mount a hefty board matching the plate size to the stud first and painted it the wall color, then screw the bar on to that piece. However, you could double a stud if you wanted to go to that length. We did not. It’s been in constant use for a year. That is the only issue we’ve encountered.

Both occasions on my bathroom remodel; I removed the drywall and reinforced the studs full for the space on the grab bar. In the picture I attached it is the one on the left. The other bar does not have the toilet paper holder but it is same length from same company. Both bought on Amazon. I really like how it has the integrated toilet paper holder. saves space in tiny bathrooms so you dont have a roller randomly on the floorplan. Elderly father who weighs 280# is able to use and support himself fully.

If installed with long bolts into solid backing (studs or plates), the bars are very sturdy. Nothing wrong with the bars. Note to be careful which side you place the bar with the toilet roll holder. Switching the sides later, which means unscrewing or unbolting both arms from the wall, will weaken the attachment. The holder is too far back and hard to get at if the user is not skinny or slumps a bit or the seat/toilet tank combination places the user further away from the wall. Also difficult to use one-handed: the roll rolls too freely. Would be good if the manufacturer tested the product with actual disabled people.
