Love these shades!
Had low expectations but was surprised how nice these shades are! They will protect our furniture from the harsh sun and make the patio useful in the afternoon. I just ordered a third one. Here is some of the things we did to make them work. 1. We hung it with four Alumahangers since we have an insulated cover. The end pulley we had to screw into the aluminum awning because it needs to be in a fixed position 2. I put WD40 on the threads of the rods to make screwing in easier. Lay the rods flat on a table to get them to screw in. Otherwise it will be very hard. 3. We actually cut the rods so they would fit in the groove of our awning cover. You just unscrew the end cap, cut the rod pipe with a pipe cutter and put in a drywall anchor and screw back in the endcap. We took 2.5 inches off the rod to make it fit. The shades still lie flat and function normally. 4. I have a cable wrapped around the bottom of the post and then I use an S hook to attach the eye screw of the shade to the cable to keep the shade in place. Wish the cleat to tie the cord was not plastic and wish it was larger. I have a lot of cord because my shades are 6'X9'.

Patience needed
Lots to do here. I had to put 2 of these together first one was the lesson 2nd was easier. Directions can confuse you. I think there is a video I didn't realize it until I was done, I suggest you watch it. Wasn't hard to assemble just have to take it slow dont hurry. I used some small washers at the top connection s since the screws provided would not firmly hold down hanger the would cause it to slip out of groove when tightening. Running the string proved to be an ordeal you have alot of feet to pull through then at final stage you will have to sinch it up all over to take out the slack to put the string lock on. After all is said and done they look good and shade the sun out of your eyes.

Nice shades!!
My husband and I installed 3 of these shades on our porch to block the sun in the early morning and early evening. I chose the beige color, hoping the light would pass thru while the shade would block the direct sun and heat. So far, we are very happy with these shades! Some of the reviews I read said the rods were difficult or impossible to assemble. I struggled with trying to make them fit together, too, until my husband put them on a large flat surface, and we sprayed the ends of the rods with WD-40. Once we were able to get them started, they went together fairly easily, but the fine threads were a challenge. I understand they need to be fine to be strong enough to do the job, and the rods are nice and strong once they are screwed together. Some of the directions could be clearer. Overall, this is a nice, reasonably priced, product, and if they last the way they should, we should get many years of shade from them. Be aware that the breeze does not pass thru them, and we were glad that we ordered the 6-foot size to hang in 8-foot areas, so breezes could easily pass thru on the ends.

Perfect privacy
Works perfectly to give us privacy from close neighbors on our lanai. Keeps area cooler and drier as well while still letting in a little light

Great sun shade but .....
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing these. The main reason I bought them is because they had hard to find standard sizes that fit our screen porch. The reviews were good and the price was excellent. That being said, there were a few issues regarding installation. 1. The screws for the pulleys were small and for our situation made it hard to drill. A larger screw head with a flat back would have been better. 2. The pipes were hard to fit together due to the powder coating. I had to sand off the coating in order to fit them together, and even then, with difficulty. 3. The cord stringing instructions were difficult and it took several times reading the printed instructions and watching the online video to get it right. Once installed, they are quite wrinkled, but I'm hoping that over time with humidity they'll straighten out. They're also a bit difficult to roll up straight to look nice. On the positive side, they provide great sun protection. Our west facing screen porch becomes a scorcher in the late afternoon, and these help tremendously. The beige color is more of a wheat color...more yellowish which worked for us, but maybe not for someone else. The wide range of sizes, the price and the sun protection outweigh the difficulties for us. We'll enjoy them!

DON'T WASTE YOU $ or TIME!
#1. The weaved plastic like material this shade is made with is cheaply made, & will not roll up nicely. It has wrinkles on one side as though it is not even. 2. Assembly Directions are poor as it gets. 3. The locking mechanism is a real pain. It is a piece of metal that you pinch & slide up the pull strings once you have the shade where you want it. Just like those devices you see on coat hood strings & a lot of other different items. I would return this shade if I wasn't to the point of being totally fed up with the assembly of it. I wouldn't recommend this item to anyone. I purchased the 8'Wide by 6' Long shade & there is no way to put 3 pulleys on this shade because you don't have 3 strings to string through 3 pulleys. I am beyond upset that I wasted over $92 on this pos!!!

Great shade at a great price!
Very easy installation, sturdy, rolls up and down with no effort and ties off for storage. The shade produced is maximized, air flows around and through as it should. I gave this shade a 5 star regardless of the fact that several rods had retainer plastic ends broken off in the package! I believe that this is a packaging and shipping problem that should be addressed and not a product defect. After verifying the damage with pictures, the company promptly shipped a complete new set of rods without damages.
