a great buy! i'm happy with this product!
a great buy! however i'm suprised that their aren't more companies to chose from making aluminum paint tubes.but anyhow--!if you mix your own paint, these aluminum tubes work great! there are some vids on youtube on how you get the paint into the tubes. i do a fast method by 1.) placing the estimated amount of mixed paint onto a sheet of wax paper, 2.) roll the wax paper with the paint on it, into a roll, small enough to insert into back of tube. 3.) squeeze paint into tube with fingers on wax paper as you pull out roll of wax paper. 4) pinch end, a little pair of pliers works great! So what is the benefit of aluminum tubes vs. just putting mixed paint in say glass or plastic jars. For me I use both. With jars you can put a lot more paint in them, only thing I noticed over time, is that if I leave oil paint in glass jars for longer periods of time, if there is air/space in the jar, there is some drying that will happen on top of the paint -or- in other words a skin develops on top of paint. Honestly though, you just take of that part of the skin and the paint underneath is just as wonderful! So, with that said, aluminum tubes prevent air from drying out paint sitting for long periods of time. Also, tubes are great for travel, and they look clean and cool after you write the color/ or description on them with a sharpie! Although I make my own paint from time to time, I will always buy pre- made paint and tubes of paint from art companies as well, as I have my fav colors. -but I’ve also been making my own oil paint for 18 years, because it is a way to save some money. If you are looking for a good place to order raw pigment, I’ve always loved Kremer Pigment Inc. on-line. Note: if you buy the cheaper oil paint from art stores, esp the large tubes, keep in mind that they put a large amount of “filler” I believe it’s chalk or some other cheap pigment to reduce coast, that is why the colors looks dull when they dry. I often use these cheaper large tubes of paint for under- coats. With oil paint, you get what you pay for. The great thing about mixing your own paint, is that it’s a pure color… and for me it’s also about the Zen process as well. Enjoy!

Good, but could use improving...
These little guys are pretty much as described. They are great for saving paint from larger tubes, especially if that tube has broken open and the paint starting to dry out. This size is good for en plein air use and I divide paint from larger tubes into the smaller for weight and space saving when lugging my plein air supplies. They are also good for containing viable palette scrapings (mix leftover paint puddles and keep in these tubes for next session - you can mix the leftovers into a grey). To seal the tubes, I use a paint tube crimper (the tool that allows you to get the most paint out of the tube by crimping it) to initially seal the bottom, then fold/roll the end using the crimp-indentations, and the flatten the fold with a set of pliers.Be careful not to crimp too tightly as the tubes may pop. They are not that strong. That's one thing that would improve the tubes, make them a little thicker. Another thing that needs improving is the cap. They are quite flimsy and several of them have broken others sit on the the tubes at an angle (they come that way). Otherwise a fairly good investment if you want to save your paint.

Paint tubs
I would like to have more sizes to choose from. The tubs filled well the crimp on the end of the tube was accomplished with lineman's pliers, using minimal effort. They act the way you would except paint tubs to. They do exactly what I need them to do. In the way I think they should. What more can you ask for. Well maybe labels, labels for each tub would be great, Only improvement I can think of.

Just what I needed.
I got down my 38 year old paints from the garage, to find many had split & were oozing. The paints had dried out some, but I found I could replace the linseed oil, mix, mix, mix, & the paints were just fine again. I put each reconstituted paint into a Zip Lock sandwich bag, snipped off a corner, & squeezed the paint into these tubes. Just like cake decorating. Tap the tube on a table top to remove trapped air, fold over the open end a couple of times, & crimp it with pliers, a tack hammer, or an artists vice. Presto! Works great! The cap is different than is pictured, but that's OK.

Good product
The lidded opening was a bit bigger than the smaller tubes of oil paint that you buy, but they were easy to fill and work pretty good.

Love the design.
I make my own creams and I used these as container for my hand creams. It works perfectly fine, and I like the white color in the outside and the big octagonal cup. I wish they had a 30ml model.

Nice product shipped from jerrys artarama
Lids can break easy if you pack too roughly, but otherwise great for storing a nice amount of leftover paint. Also, these ship through Jerry's artarama, so check the price on their site before ordering. I got the 8 dollars cheaper through a sale not reflected on amazon.

Great product
This was my first time filling paint tubes. I think that if they were a smaller size, the whole process would have been difficult. But with this size transferring handmade paint was fairly easy.
