My cat loves this in her rotation
What can I say, it's one of the three in my cat's rotation. My cat has a lot of allergies to carbs and oils, and this is one of the very, very, few wet foods my cat can eat AND enjoys eating. She is a picky eater and eats this. Decent quality ingredients without a hefty price.

Great Product; finicky cat; I don't get to eat wild salmon
(ASIN: B0012KB4X4) All of the wild salmon entrees are terrific. Cotton simply doesn't like the taste of 'wild,' if there is one. I think that, in this case, it means stronger flavor. (He doesn't like herring, sardines, or sometimes mackerel, either.) So it is his loss; the gain goes to those other cats out there with more advanced palettes. Cottie is a one-year old, for all intents and purposes still a kitten. As a Jewish mother, I had hoped that with age, his taste buds would approve more foods, but as of now they haven't, so either first impressions have stuck with him, or he just doesn't like these flavors -- you know, the ones with aromas that curl your nose hair and really stink up the room the minute the lid is removed. Periodically, I try to give him Fancy Feast Wild Salmon Florentine, but he so far proves to me the immovable object. (I have also tried the Fancy Feast Wild Salmon Tuscany (ASIN: B0012KH0LE) and Primavera (ASIN: B001STX0ZO),all purchased from Amazon. I did try fooling him, once, and I am the one who got the short end on that one. He loves Fancy Feast tuna with cheese. I mixed some of that into the wild salmon. Which not only did not do the trick, but Cotton refused to eat that favorite for a very long while, suspecting that I was trying to trick him again. It is really strange when you see your cat eyeballing his dinner in any strange way; this one took the cake! Just don't let his intractability ruin your cat's chance to enjoy something special.

The recipe has changed and now none of my 7 cats will eat this food at all.
I rarely take the time to write reviews, and almost never negative ones, but I need to make a strong exception in this case. For many a long year, every cat I have had has absolutely loved to get The Elegant Medleys brand food...pretty much every flavor was fine. Now they have changed it. First it was not available, perhaps due to the pandemic. Then the price shot up 50-100% or more when it started to become available again. So I stocked up, and have regretted it ever since. But not as much as my cats regret it. They no longer have a food they like and will eat every day from this entire line of cat food flavors. I do not have any idea why they altered the recipe...perhaps it was a supply chain issue. I understand fishing fleets were grounded the entire pandemic since people on boats were spreading Covid really bad. Whatever the reason, most of the flavors are simply not available. The ones that are have exploded upwards in price. And all of them are inedible to cats everywhere that have been eating and loving this food for years. Until I see some reviews that indicate they have resumed making it the old way...the way it has been made for at least 14 and likely many more that that years...I have to warn everyone not to buy this food. It is a real shame, and all the worse because of the price. But the worst thing is that there is no explanation, and no one is stepping up, and in fact it seems no one from Purina wants to know anything about what is going on. Obviously they know darn well what has been changed and why, and they have had legions of complaints from formerly happy customers. So the questions remain, what is going on? Why was the food changed? Why is it so much more money now? Why are most flavors not even available? Why will the cats not eat it and when some do they get sick? And why is Purina harming legions of their formerly loyal customers and their pets by selling this inedible "cat food" that has long been the premium brand but is now worthless garbage? Thanks a bunch Purina /sarc. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I would demand an explanation, but everything I have learned informs me that none will be forthcoming. All I and the rest of us can do is warn our fellow pet owners and cat tenders away from this food, and all of the Purina Elegant Medleys flavors. It is so hard to find anything cats will reliably eat. This has always been the case. Which makes it all the more unfortunate and exasperating. I would like to be able to buy this cat food if and when these issues is ever resolved, explained, and taken responsibility for, by the manufacturer, but I have to say that the longer this goes on, the less chance I will be able to ever trust them again. It was always expensive relative to most other cat food brands and types, but it was a justifiable expense because cats would eat it and love it. Now it is more money than ever before, by a LOT, and it is awful, and apparently may even be toxic to some cats, judging by the other reviews. -Sad Cat Dad and Noms Tender in Florida.
