Great product for older people
Works great and area light comes on when sun gets dim. Great near steps for older person.

It's got a backup battery if the electricity goes out, compact unit.

Simple to set up, plug rotates
Super simple to set up. Plug rotates to accommodate layout of your plug (portrait or landscape.) I find the little nightlight just enough - I don't want to light up the whole room.

If you get a "Lb" (Low Battery) Code
Ok... I admit, I did not 'fully' read the instruction 'manual' that came with the unit. So when I plugged it into my Power Strip in my basement, I got an "Lb" Code. Reading the instructions for codes, it said to replace the unit. I requested and received a quick replacement and installed it in another area. All is good. Then I ordered another one of these units to place in my basement which arrived very quickly. Great service that way! Plugged that into my Power Strip in the basement and again... I got another "Lb" Code. This angered me, until I unplugged it, looked at the lever next to the plug (*WARNING: Do Not Push This Lever In Until You Are Ready To Recycle/Dispose Of The Unit) [PHOTO Attached - Lever is under RED Cap]. Turns out, when you plug in the unit into a standard outlet, this lever is depressed just enough to activate the '10-year battery'. Who knew?! Maybe I'll read the instruction manual to see if this little ditty is there. :-/

Important to have carbon monoxide and gas detectors in homes to keep everyone safe. This item was reasonably priced and easy to install/ use.
