I am in athletic shoe heaven!
I have had some great experience with most Sketcher shoes in the past. Shoe shopping is tricky for me, with short but wide feet I usually need to buy 2-3 sizes more than the measurers say my size is, based on length. I have loved all my Sketcher's athletic shoes but there was one particular style (similar to converse chucks) they stopped making which put me off on athletic shoes from them for awhile. When I found a good sale, I'd get their mary jane type shoes for work. The first pair I got were heaven, except the velcro strap kept coming undone, thanks to my foot width. The 2nd and 3rd pair I've ordered, were just too tight on me. The material on the top was just too rigid to accommodate the swelling. I am saving them for weight loss, and most of the swelling is under control now so I am sure I'll be able to wear them soon. After sporting a pair of sneakers from Payless for a year, and having to deal with weak, unsupported ankles which started to hurt a lot, I decided it was time for a new pair of good shoes. Sketchers was my first choice and after some research and reading tons of reviews, this style seemed ideal. I was looking into go-walks in particular. Although they have the 2 and 3 versions now, the reviews led me to the original. The nail in the coffin selling point was that several said they could wear them without socks and not have that awful odor when taking them off. I can agree with those reviews after spending over a month in these. This is particularly important to me as I fly a few times a year and I don't like to offend those around me when going through security. Took me awhile to realize that it was actually my shoes, not my feet, when I noticed no odors from my other good shoes. (also most payless shoes tend to smell moldy when exposed to moisture, it was dreadful!)When I first received these, I was almost in tears because I had some swelling and wasn't able to get into them. I thought, another wasteful purchase because of my stupid size issues! I'm not used to athletic shoes without laces to be able to adjust when needed, especially when trying to get them on during swelling. I was determined to make these work for me, they looked so comfy and I needed the support that I read about with these shoes, so I forced myself into them and dealt with uncomfortable pressure for about an hour, then they started to feel really good. I like how they hug my feet, but they don't suffocate as it felt like at first. My only sad feeling is that I wanted something with some pink. These do come in pink, but I didn't want ALL pink, as my wardrobe includes red tops (would not be a good look, I don't think!) So I went with the gray, and I always wear black pants or jeans so they go well. They are not the most attractive sneakers ever, but I've been told they look good on me and omgosh the support is outstanding!I wish I had these when I ended up walking close to 10 miles on a recent trip. That's when the ankles started to hurt and didn't stop hurting. I wore these on another trip right after I got these, I walked average 2 miles a day overall and had no foot/ankle pain whatsoever. I don't feel like I want to just rip them off when I'm at work sitting at a desk for 10-11 hours a day, so long wear is comfortable with these. I don't know how these would feel after an entire day of walking or several miles at once. Also, I stopped by my sister in law's house on Halloween to see my nieces in their costumes, they asked if I was going trick or treating with them. I told them I'll walk to the corner house with them but said I couldn't go much further. The walking and standing usually wears me out after about 10 minutes, and I get back pain. We got to the corner, and I thought, I feel pretty good, so I kept walking with them. We probably walked a half to 3/4 of a mile which would normally have me stopping to sit down frequently, or clutching my lower back in pain. Nope, not this time, and I have to give credit to the shoes. I'm not saying they will fix back issues, but for me with mild low back pain after standing/walking, the shoes really supported me enough to stay comfortable. I love these shoes! Good price for the quality too!

great shoes! nice price!
So my first experience with Go Walk's was about April of 2014. I got the light grey colored shoes when there was few choices to pick from. I was very happy with my purchase even though I pages the full price of $60 at JCPenney's. I originally picked out by normal size 6 when I bought them, because I was in a store and was able to try them on. They didn't have any break in period for the originals and I wore them to work every day. They lasted me approximately 7 months before I had to buy new ones. The tread was almost none existent. Im sure that everybody will be going through the shoess that quickly, I am a nurse and walk a heck of a lot. That being said, these shoes I picked out a half a size larger because I read other reviews stating that they needed a bigger size. Low and behold the 1/2 size larger is great. When I first put them one for the first couple of times, they were a little stiff. Eventually though they broken in and I was able to move around comfortably with them. However after that I wish that I had gotten my regular size. So I can't advise anyone whether to get your regular size or half size, because like clothes shoes are sometimes hard to gauge the size. I still like them I just wish I hadn't read other peoples reviews about the next size up. Another thing that I am happy about is that I didn't have to pay full price of $60.

Comfy, but look & feel like slippers.
I bought these in the grey & the brown. The grey ones felt nice, kind of like a nice pair of slippers, but i wasn't keen on the color. I padded around the house in them a bit and they seem like they'd be good for at home or running errands around town...but I question how supportive they would be for long lengths of time (such as an 8+ hour shift on my feet at work). I almost kept them for casual use but decided that they look too much like slippers for my taste and i couldn't justify spending over $50 on a pair of slippers. Also, for some reason the brown pair felt tighter & the heel was rubbing a little. (defective pair?) I sent both pairs back.I was going to order them again in the black version, thinking that they would better pass as shoes in a dark hue, but decided to order different styles that are solid black and grey instead. I do not own any other skechers go walks so i don't have a good reference point as to how these might compare to other versions, but i will update my review once i get a chance to test out the others that i ordered.***For size reference, I wear a 7.5 in sandals (usually) but am women's size 8 in the sneakers that i own (asics, new balance, converse). I read that they run a tad big so i bought these in a women's 7.5, and the sizing was perfect.12/8/14-----so i ordered & tried on a few other pairs of go-walks from amazon and was not happy with any of them. This shoe is just not for me. i know these are a popular shoe but they never seem to fit right, slip up at the heel or just feel strange to me. I'll stick with asics, onitsuka tiger & new balance. and if i need dressier looking shoes that are also comfy sperry topsiders win out over sketchers go walks.

The best shoe EVER
The best shoe EVER! I have ankle and hip issues so I have to get something really prefect. My friend recommended Sketchers, but I didn't take heed...at first. Then I started looking on Amazon. Glad I did. These shoes are FANTASTIC! In fact, I need another pair.A kind of flaw in the materials is the sole. It's not all that durable as it is a softer rubber. So since I have a horrible instep, and have worn these quite a bit, the round pads on the heel have worn down. And mind you, I do not wear these to just cruise around town - only to walk my dog and exercise. But since they're so great, next I will look for a more solid sole and solve that. I still recommend as others may not have that problem. Just wanted to make others aware.
