Good stones but buy more than you think you need!
These stones look great in my gas firepit. They didn't crack or explode when heated, which was my main concern. A few pieces did get a bit dark from the flames, but you can clean off the soot with a metal brush if you want, or rinse and thoroughly dry them before use unless you want them to explode. I bought 3 bags of the 3–5 inch stones and 3 bags of the 2–3 inch ones. The smaller stones were a better value, with a good amount in each bag. For reference: the first bag filled the middle section of my pit, the second bag filled the front, and the third covered the rest. The larger stones look nice, but you get only about four per $40 bag, which feels pretty overpriced. Since I’d opened the big-stone bag already, I mixed them into the middle section for variety. I think it actually looks better with the mix. Overall, I'm happy with the appearance and the decent heat retention. Price-wise, these were cheaper than many alternatives, but for what is essentially a few pounds of stone, they still feel somewhat expensive. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could but 5 would do I guess…

1/2-1” size is perfect for ammo can fire pit
Seems to be a great size for what I needed them for - a DIY ammo can fire pit. One bag was enough to cover burner but left enough room in the can to store lighter, wrench, and hose. Kind of spendy for “rocks”, but the aesthetic and function is nice.

Gas Fire Pit Rocks
We bought these to replace the glass beads in our gas fire pit and they turned out to be a perfect choice. It took two bags to completely fill the pit, and the coverage was exactly what we needed. The rocks are true to the 1–2 inch size described in the listing, and they fit perfectly in place without shifting around too much. They have a clean, natural look that adds a nice visual upgrade compared to the glass beads we had before. Overall, we’re very happy with the quality, appearance, and how well they work in our setup.

They look and feel great!
I bought these for my gas fireplace to replace the old lava rock. They are smooth and feel as heavy real rock. I recommend washing them off with water as there is a lot of dust in the bag and washing improves the look of the rock. In the pic the rock on the left is unwashed, the right is washed. I got the 10 lb bag, medium sized rock. I could have used more rocks to fill the fireplace, but another 10 lb bag would have been too much. I washed some of the old black, broken up lava rock I had and left it as a base to fill in the missing spots. Oh, and it takes about 24 hours for the rocks to dry. They turn dark gray when wet, but will go back to the original color.

Very nice fireplace rocks
Attractive rocks for our new fireplace. They are not as smooth as river rock, but definitely not as coarse as lava rocks. I rinsed them in a 5 gallon bucket to remove the dust before installing. They are also heavy enough to stay put and not wander out of the fireplace by themselves.
