Great for dog training. It is loud, the sound is sharp, and durable. Used it to train my Labrador, Meg, long distance commands. She responds great to this whistle even when other whistles wouldn't work. I think it is the best pitched whistle for dog training that you will be able to get. Build quality is fantastic, it is made of high quality plastic and the key ring doesn't bend or break like many of the silver ones do. There is a small circular piece of wood in the chamber used to rattle around and make a good sound that the manufacturer put in. This is a fantastic addition which I love. I would recommend this whistle to anyone needing a high-quality but cheap dog whistle to train their dogs.

I've used this style of whistle for about 40 years. It seems the only time I buy a new one is when I lose one!

Product is exactly as described and inexpensive. I have a 20 month old male vizsla, and he’s an exceptional young dog with great recall. HOWEVER, he’s lately been going a little “dog park deaf” on me and not recalling to normal whistling I do with my mouth. We were both facing some frustration over this issue so I decided to give this hunting whistle a try. And boy does it work! Instantly gets my vizslas attention when he’s keyed in on a scent and not recalling properly. I have been extremely happy with how effective the whistle has been at “breaking through the noise” at the dog park and getting my boys attention from distance. Great product! For my guy I didn’t have to do any additional training to condotion him to the whistle, as he’s used to me whistling at him with my lips for recall, so it just worked instantly. YMMV if you don’t already have your dog trained to come to you whistling at them, but it will certainly get their attention, without potentially causing thier ears to hurt like a “silent whistle.” I am very happy with the product and highly recommend this far. I will update the review if I encounter any weird developments down the road

I was really excited to start whistle training with my dog, and researched quite a few whistles before going with this one. The whistle itself is VERY loud, which is nice - and it carries well. It's not too high- or low- pitched so that it gets lost in the wind/rain, but the downside is that it can be ear-piercing for people nearby. So I haven't wanted to use it to "train" or practice at the park - I don't want to alarm anyone, haha. I also am slightly disappointed that the ball inside is a hard cork --- it got wet inside when it was raining hard, and it didn't seem to work as well. I don't know if it's just mine or that's normally the case. For the price, it's a great whistle. I've used it many times so far when I've taken the dog out to my parent's 5-acre property, and I'm not sure if it startles the dog or she intuitively knows, but she will rocket recall whenever I blow it. It's got a really sturdy attachment ring, and the orange color makes it stand out, so it's easy to find in my purse or coat pocket.

I wanted this due to the dangers of other dogs around that are aggressive. It also works well controlling barking. Just a little blow and the noise is enough to get my dog’s attention. Highly recommend if you are willing to train your dog regarding barking

Hard to believe someone would put their name on an item and market it as a training tool when the quality is as much as a $.25 child's toy. I can not imagine this whistle being good for any purpose, let alone training a dog. Besides the fact that it gives almost no fluctuation (to adjust volume for varying distance), I should be able to focus on the dog not trying to get the whistle to work. Pure junk. Made in China...

The whistle does not function as well as the one I bought for myself . It isn't nearly so loud . Looking at it again we have discovered that it has a "pea " which my own one has not . Do you still make them pea -less ?

My working dog listen better to whistle then voice as it is easier to distinguish in park and open fields. I now have whistles in both vehicles and a couple of spares! Great for training!

Second one I bought since I misplaced the first. When this whistle is blown my dogs run to me excited ready for action. A normal looking whistle but the sound is very different when you compare it to other whistles. Short bursts of air are needed for the sharp whistle, like a traffic cop

This is not the best whistle but not he worst either
