This is the best
I am writing a review today on June 14, 2021 basing my evaluation of this product overall since I first purchased this on May 29, 2019 to protect my newly built home's conditioned crawlspace where the irrigation flush controls happened to be placed. I looked at many options at the time as the irrigation flush valves had leaked 2x and caused extensive damage where the builders had to replace the whole side crawlspace walls TWICE due to wet ruined insulation $$$-time-fustration- potenial mold.,,,,,the simplesence fit my requirements, small, long battery life (changed it after 2 years with 78% battery power left just as a routine. It required no 110 wiring, was portable, and WORKS. I have read compaints of the sound signal is not loud enough......if you were not home you wouldnt hear it or the running water either.....depend on your internet/phone to alert your and it is perfectly fine for me as that is more dependable than an alarm sound. Additionally you can have it alert you on text or on email, to double layer the safety, it also alerts my wifes phone text and email as well by simply adding another contact. It not only will alert you of an incident but also if the incidient is resolved. And if that is not enough, it sends a message approx. every day or day and a half to show that your device is communication directly with you for additional peace of mind that it is working. all of this means protection AND peace of mind !!!Very simple also to set up and you get a real human to answer support questions. After 2 years of use, I had concerns regarding daily communications,,,,,,,simple sence support (Michael) was as pleasant as he could be and help resolve my problem, mind you this has been 2 years......so time tells on everything from people to products. Over all this time, the support I got and resolution to my problem was very satisfying to me and I plan to order more units soon now that the house is getting older. This is really a good company and has my trust and business because it confidently protects me and gives me great peace of mind, all for a very more than reasonable price. Bruce in Richmond VA

Very surprised at how well this works so far
I was a little concerned about the ease of use and setup. I was pleasantly surprised and decided to buy the 5 pack after buying 1 unit first. The app works great and both my wife and I received email and text notifications quickly when I tested the first unit I ordered. So I have 6 total units and as long as you have a good in house network setup and can get either text or email notifications, it should ge great. It’s a great peace of mind. Even traveling I know one of us will get messaged.Buy one, see if it’s for you. I might get a few more, for some other areas in the future.I tested this for iPhone, so I can’t speak about whether this works better or worse for android users. The battery indicator is useful and so far shows 100% on all units except for one that shows 94%.I’ll update my review if anything unsuspecting occurs. Also, I have a backup battery to my router that can last 3-4 hours, so even if my house loses power, I can still get messages. I’d highly recommend considering that for anyone’s setup. It’s another small peace of mind.

WOW, finally some peace of mind for leaks
Water leaks in any home can be totally destructive and require much time, energy, and money to repair. In a typical home with many different potential sources of leaks, it really is nice to have a way to monitor for leaks.I had in the past bought stand-alone units that would just emit a loud beep if they sense water. That's OK but are of limited use in a larger home and of no use at all if you're not home. These units connect easily to your home WiFi and will send both an E-Mail message and a text message when a leak is detected. You do not need to pay for any subscription or ongoing service plan for E-Mail and text alerts. That is BIG.I bought the 5-pack. I put two of them near my sump pumps, one at my water heater, one at my washing machine, and one near a stand-up freezer. Setting them up is a breeze. They connect easily with WiFi and work very well. I ran the manual test (without water) and the alert went out instantly. I also tried a test with water and it sensed water exactly as it should. One of them sensed water a few weeks later when my sump pump failed and that was wonderful. The negative points are:1) The audible alarm is next to useless. It really isn't needed as long as you have your phone with you, but why bother putting it in there if it cannot be heard? I understand that it can't be very loud due to the size of the unit and the battery consumption, but it seems a bit misleading when they advertise it as having a loud alert.2) The battery should be easier to replace. The good news is that the battery should last a year, plus you can monitor battery level in the app, and it should alert you when the battery level is low. However replacing the battery requires unscrewing an access door to get to it. Seems like it could be made easier.3) They are available in a single pack, 3-pack and 5-pack, yet there is no discount for purchasing the 5-pack. At $50 each, they could offer a discount for purchasing the larger bundles.

Won't Connect to WiFi
I've worked in IT for over 30 years. When doing the initial setup on this device, it wouldn't show ANY WiFi networks. Nada. I logged into my modem and confirmed the 2G & 5G WiFi SSIDs were broadcasting. Still nada. I was configuring a new Tovala oven at the same time and it had NO PROBLEM connecting to my WiFi...even showing five other networks within the area. I went to the vendor's website and found their FAQs. I confirmed my iPhone had the latest iOS and I removed the paired SimpleSence device from my Bluetooth settings. I uninstalled the app twice, restarted my iPhone twice and, yet, this device wouldn't show ANY WiFi networks. I contacted their tech support, explaining the above actions I've already taken and he couldn't figure it out. I'm sure this device works great once connected to a network, but I wouldn't know.
