Yamaha FC3A Piano Style Sustain Foot Pedal with Half-Pedaling

The FC3A is a continuous / half‑damper pedal designed for digital pianos that support half‑pedaling (Yamaha, etc.). It outputs a variable resistance so the instrument can sense “how far” the pedal is pressed. Works very well with the Expressive E Osmose as it is designed to handle continuous pedals like the FC3A natively. The FC3A sends variable CC values (0-127), not binary ON/OFF like other sustain pedals such as Roland DP-2/6/10, Yamaha FC4A/FC5). Lovely pedal - well built . Things to keep in mind when choosing what might be right for you written below. The FC3A does not appear to work with my Roland Juno D6 - being fundamentally a synthesizer with high-quality piano multisamples, not a dedicated digital piano, so it lacks acoustic piano features like half-pedaling as I discovered. The Juno-D6 Hold jack expects a switch-type pedal (momentary contact closure), not a continuous half‑damper signal. It ignores or misreads analog expression meaning that the Juno-D6 cannot interpret the FC3A correctly, so you get no sustain or very erratic behaviour. What you need instead for a Juno D6 and other synthesisers that don’t support half‑pedaling is switch-type sustain pedal, for example:Roland DP-2, DP-6, DP-10 (set to switch mode) NB: DP-10 half-pedaling does NOT work with the Juno-D6 - the Juno D6 Hold jack is switch-only which is why you set the DP-10 pedal to switch.. Great piece of kit. Substantial, solid, well made and a big improvement on my former 'sewing machine' type of footpedal. Doesn't move about but sits squarely on the floor beneath the keyboard. Arrived quickly enough, considering it came from abroad, but delivery in this country not good. Didn't arrive when it should, and package was damaged sufficiently enough for me to withdraw the product without opening the seal.

This is a top quality damper/sustain pedal for Yamaha digital pianos (I’m using this on Yamaha DGX670). Excellent price here compared to buying from Yamaha shops etc. It’s good and solid with very quiet mechanics. It is quite weighty and tends to stay put when playing with it. The pedal included with my new Yamaha digital piano is adequate, but lightweight and moves around a lot. This pedal solves this problem. I wholeheartedly recommend this pedal
