Electric Mower Is No Push Over!
We bought this mower to use something eco-friendly. We are new to using an electric mower, but this little mower is pretty powerful. No problems at all. There are two things to adjust to: 1. Push the power button first and then hold down the bar on the mower handle to start it. Once engaged let go of the power button. 2. It was a new experience to manage an electric cord while mowing as this is not a battery charged mower. As such it is lighter. Make sure you buy a cord that matches the specs of the mower. We bought a 100 foot cord . Our yard had gotten a little longer than normal due to a series of rains. The mower handled it well and does not have the heavy weight I’ve experienced with most gas push mowers. On the more hefty areas I slowed my pace and titled the mower back a little. Every went well and there is adjustable heights for the mower. The price was right for exploring electric mowers as a back up to a traditional rotary mower. It’s nice to have an option that doesn’t require physical oomph but also doesn’t require oil, gas, and the like!

Great little mower
This little mower works great!! I live in a mobile home community and we don't have much front and backyard to mow. I had like 2 months grass cutting to catch up on after I sold my gas lawnmower. I saw and read the reviews before I bought mine and someone was saying the handle would not stay attached to the grass bag. So I could see what they were talking about when my mower arrived and was putting it together. I figured out that inside the 2 small slits where the one end of the handle fits, take a Flathead screwdriver and "gently" move the plastic pieces to the left and right insides in the slots to where you can't see them anymore to get them out of the way and you will be able to push the end of the handle down inside and it will lock... :) Hope this helps on info. But no complaints at my end on this mower. I was a little leery of buying an electric mower but glad I did. Took me 5 mins to assemble... I can mow my lawns with one finger pushing the mower cause its so lightweight. Blade underneath cuts perfect. dragging the extension cord around is kind of a pain but no problem working with doing that. Thank you American Mower for making this little mower... It's PERRRRRFECT!

To avoid!
I bought this electric land mower in June 2024 trusting the 5 stars reviews and disregarding the 1 and 2 stars. I should have known better. First this item is very small! I could not believe it when it was ready: it looked more like a toy than a tool. It was a pain to use it in my small backyard, the bag is small and had to be emptied too often. It took me for ever to mow my lawn. It was not a pleasure, it was a chore. I used it four months, twice a month. May 2025, it was time to cut the grass. I used it for an hour, and then it stopped. I tried to start it again and again, to no avail. I tried with an other extension cord, but nothing happened. This land mower is dead, as it died on many other customers. I went to Lowe’s, bought a new land mower battery powered, regular size, and finished mowing my lawn. Two weeks later I cut my lawn, it was a pleasure, it was fast, and I did not have to empty the bag before the work was done. Stay away from this item, or be ready to buy a new one very soon.

Little but does the job
I had an Earthwise 19" corded mower that was just about to turn 15 years old when it suddenly gave up the ghost halfway through my lawn. So, while I try to figure out how to deal with that issue, I got this one to keep up with the grass -- same company, different name, far tinier mower. Mine came from the returns pile, and I imagine I had the same problem as its previous owner: I could NOT figure out how to lift the blade height on this thing. I've used a lot of different mowers over the years, but this one purely stumped me. The directions were no help at all. After watching a few unboxing videos on another site, I figured it out at last. Basically you pull that green lever outward toward the wheel and hold it. This pulls free the small metal pin on the lever's inner side. Then, while holding it out, you push the lever upward, toward the mower body, which moves that metal pin upward in its track to a new hole. This raises the blade height so you're no longer cutting at default dirt level. Other than that, I had to get over the mild shock at how light and tiny this mower is -- it really does look like a toy mower. But it does a good job! I've mowed the entire lawn three times as of now. It does take a little longer because it's small, but it cuts really well, and you feel slightly less noodly in the end because you haven't been pushing and hauling around as much weight. My old electric mower used to overheat when I hit longer grass, so I'd have to stop and let it cool off; this one doesn't appear to have the same problem. However, because this one's so light, you have to take care not to lean on the handle and tilt the blade off the grass or you'll wind up with uncut swathes. The cord clip looks flimsy, but I've accidentally tromped on the cord several times, and it's kept everything plugged together. And it does sound like you're hoovering the lawn -- it's a bit quieter than my old mower, I believe. That said, I wish it had a side chute for the grass because I don't want to use that clipping bin (I mean, where am I going to dump that out?). So instead I stop periodically, unplug the mower, and tip out all the grass that's gotten packed into the back of it so I can kick it out over the lawn. Annoying, but not a big deal, I guess.

Efficient and Compact Electric Lawn Mower
The American Lawn Mower Company 50514, and it has proven to be a reliable and efficient tool for maintaining my lawn. Here's my detailed review: Easy to Use and Maneuver: One of the standout features of this electric lawn mower is its user-friendly design. The controls are intuitive, making it easy to operate, especially for those new to lawn care. Maneuvering the mower is a breeze, and its compact size allows for easy navigation around obstacles and tight corners. This feature is particularly handy for those with smaller yards or intricate landscaping. Simple Assembly: Putting together the American Lawn Mower 50514 was a straightforward process. The instructions provided were clear, and all the necessary components were included. I appreciated the minimal assembly time, allowing me to start using the mower shortly after unboxing. Downside: Short Power Cable: While the American Lawn Mower 50514 boasts many positive attributes, the short power cable is a notable downside. The limited reach can be inconvenient, requiring the use of an extension cord for larger yards. This is something to consider, especially if you have outdoor areas that are farther away from electrical outlets. Overall Impression: Despite the short power cable, the American Lawn Mower 50514 is a reliable and efficient lawn care tool. Its ease of use and maneuverability make it an excellent choice for individuals with smaller yards or limited storage space. The straightforward assembly is a bonus for those who prefer hassle-free setup. If you can work around the power cable limitation, this electric lawn mower is a solid investment for maintaining a neat and tidy lawn. In summary, the American Lawn Mower 50514 strikes a balance between functionality and convenience, making lawn care a more enjoyable task.

I’m happy with my purchase
Read the review and was hesitant to buy. But glad I did this is a great value and does exactly what it was intended for. This is for small yards, you have to empty the bag often and the height it cuts the grass is a little low for my liking but I’m happy with my purchase. Super quiet and very light making it easy to maneuver Great quality lawnmower for under $100

It’s ok except for 2 things
It’s an ok machine for the Money However I will share my Pros and Cons Pro : Light weight Easy to work with Thin profile Cons : 1. Boggs down in High or thick grasses 2. The throttle handle is a Bit Flimsy The 2nd time I used it I almost broke it off because it caught on my gloves and it bent backwards very easily I was surprised at how easily it bent back actually 3. Clippings bag does fill up fast so you need to watch that . 4. Most definitely Not for large yards But ok for small stuff . Overall I would recommend if you have a small property to Mow , Wouldn’t recommend for large areas or thick or tall grass Clearing the unit will def struggle a bit and Bogg down . But for smaller Mowing Projects it’s ok 👍

Pleasure to use! Slices through thick grass & weeds! Assembly was a breeze!
This review summarizes my experiences using the 19-inch American Lawn Mower over the past 3 months. I'm very happy/satisfied with this purchase. The lawn mower works well, has a sleek and stylish design, and was easily assembled. It cuts effortlessly through both thick grass and weeds on our nearly 4,000 sq ft lawn. It's easy to use, almost feels like I'm using a household vacuum cleaner. The rear bag attaches securely and fills up. We appreciate how this mower starts up immediately, spinning at high speed. In contrast, our previous electric mower (with an induction motor) took time to reach full speed. It's also a convenience, and a nice touch, having one lever set the mowing height. On another prior mower, it was irritating to need to set each wheel's height individually and then have to frequently reset it, when it slipped out of place. I like this American Lawn Mower so much that, I'm planning to purchase a second one for backup, especially if it goes on sale after the mowing season.
