All around pleasing
This item is well made. All the extra parts are packaged separately and simple to keep organized and clean. Functionality is easy enough. I preferred the wired connection to my phone as opposed wireless. No glitches or freezing. Very nice case that holds everything compact. Light weight and easy to work with. The camera angle takes some practice yet easy to navigate once the directions are sorted out. That’s more to do with human effort than the product. Very clear picture!! I returned another product in less than 24 hours because of the absurdity of it. So I opened this with a great amount of speculation. This was an overall pleasant purchase. I cannot speak on longevity of this product, only on over initial purchase and use.

Worked great, better customer service
I have had my otoscope for just over a year. 15 months to be precise. It has never given my troubles. I was in the middle of an assessment, when I changed to look in the other ear the camera went completely whitewashed and I couldn't see. I started trouble shooting. Reinstalled the app, reset my phone, disconnected and reconnected the device. It could no longer connect to the device. Any way I reached out to the company even though the warranty period had passed. I got a quick email from AI. Next communication I received was a confirmation email that a replacement was on it's way and another email for a coupon on future purchases. I don't think I ever spoke to a real person but it was taken care of within hours. I have no idea what went wrong but I love a company that stand's behind their product. Aside from this- I never had any issues. The app was easy to install initially. The instructions were always clearly written. Good quality and easy to clean. I do always need an extra hand to take pictures. I deal with kids so it's nice to hand them the device and ask them to press the button when I tell them. It helps with anxiety being a part of the process. If you're examining an ear properly you usually need a hand to pull back the ear and another for the scope. If you want to save an image, you need the extra. I would definitely buy from this company again. Worth the investement

Easy setup and works as expected
I purchased this not so much for ear wax but because I have psoriasis in my ear, and the skin flakes sometimes drop deeply in my ear. Q-tips would only push them more deeply in, and sometimes flushing with water doesn't do the trick. I've been using the Teslong otoscope to extract them, and it works perfectly. The setup with my phone was seamless (much easier than with other, similar products I've used), and the picture was clear and bright. The only reason I haven't given the product five stars is that the attachment included is made of fairly brittle plastic; a metal tip would have been more effective (but probably not safe to use ... so I understand why the manufacturers might not have wanted to include a metal one). I'm sure any ear doc would caution against using something like this on one's own, but sometimes you've got something stuck in your ear and you just can't get to a doctor. Use it carefully, don't scrape your ear and you'll be fine. It's a good product at a reasonable price point.

One of those Amazon purchases you won't regret! :)
Love this otiscope... lots of fun & usefulness, especially for how little it costs. Highly recommend it! Several people I've showed it to (even a relative who's s a surgeon, was super impressed with it!) Works great - I'm using the "wired" (not wireless) version of the otiscope - and using it with a USA locked (not jail broken) Samsung Note 9 phone. Since android OS can be a little complicated, here are the steps to connect it if you're having trouble getting it connected (takes seconds to do them all - easy!) . 1) On your android phone, turn on "USB Debugging" (via your phone's "Settings-->"Developer options")... 2) then open up the companion app ("iUVC Pro" in the Google Play Store)... 3) Connect the provided USB cable to the otiscope and then to your phone, 4) THEN turn on the otiscope (small button 1 on the side of unit)... 5) and then ALSO turn on the otiscope's light (2nd button on the side... the otiscope's power on/off & its light's power on/off are 2 separate buttons on the side - and the light has 3 brightness levels you can toggle through)... 6) then on the iUVC Pro app screen, tap the upper-left icon (looks like 3 monitors connected by lines)... 7) then tap USB from the popup, 8) then slide the slider over to allow for USB tethering. 9) Then go "back" to the app (with back buttons, or by app-switching back to the iUVC screen), and your phone's screen should show you the otiscope image it's seeing. If it does not, or if the image is really dark or "black", make sure you've turned on the otiscope's light! (step 5). 10) When you're done using the otiscope, turn USB Debugging back off (it won't hurt your phone to leave it on, but some other apps you use may not like it to be on when using those apps - the only one I've ever noticed not liking it on is a banking app for fingerprint sign-on purposes). Tips: While using, have the otiscope plugged in to power (use another cable) and charging while using it, if you plan to use it for more than like 15 minutes (believe it or not, it's easy to use this for more than 15 minutes! It's so much fun). Fun with a child also, for looking at anything really close up. :) Also - you don't need to use the black otiscope covers if you don't want to (to me, it's a a better view without them!) - just use normal human adult intelligence about how far to go into the ear canal, if using it in an ear. Enjoy!

Don’t try this at home
The quality of the camera is great! That being said, it is extremely difficult to effectively utilize this to actually remove ear wax. I’m an RN and I would not want my patients using this to try to remove their own ear wax. The camera function is pretty cool. I would not recommend that anybody use this to remove ear wax on their own. The camera shows a mirror image, which means controlling the little spatula with the amount of precision needed to 1. Remove ear wax and 2. Not harm yourself (potentially very significantly) is very difficult. I used it to clean my partner’s ears and ended up realizing I didn’t even need a scope. I could see the areas that had ear wax with my bare eye and a flashlight. For the most part, when I was able to remove any earwax with the scope it was very minimal and I was primarily sensing where I was with my sense of touch - not the visual input from the scope. Bottom line: this scope could easily cause very significant harm while providing minimal benefit. Stick with q-tips. Just be gentle and don’t poke around too far. You don’t need to. Also, one of the spatula thingies broke very easily. Glad it didn’t break in my ear!

Wow this thing really works great!
I was told by my doctor that one of my ears was pretty full of wax. I started using peroxide to loosen the wax. I continued to have problems, feeling plugged and dizzy occasionally. I really just wanted to see what was going on in there. I searched for wax removal kits and found the scope option. I hadn't known that existed. When I saw that I could view inside I was immediately interested! I probably spent 3 days researching and reading reviews on and off amazon's website when I finally narrowed it down to this one here. I am very glad I did! It works flawlessly with my iphone and I could see clearly. The battery doesn't hold very long but I should not be spending that much time with the scope in my ear anyhow. I can take photos easily. The brightness is best when fully charged. It becomes much dimmer as it loses charge. I was shocked to find out that the wax buildup was further back in my ear making it difficult to remove. I attempted to use the scoop attachments but did not feel comfortable entering in that far without possibly hurting myself. After using the was softener the wax in my ear became much lighter in color and I flushed with warm water gently. Slowly but surely I'll get this out of my ear or my Dr. offered to have it done in her office. Thank you for a great product! This is a great device and the camera is excellent! Be sure not to put anything deep into your ear canal or you could possibly hurt yourself. Check with your doctor first!

Very Disappointed-Please Upgrade video/camera app.
This product has a horrible app bundled with it that does not focus, the highest level HD does not work, and the battery life on the unit (fully charged) is too low. It takes so long after inserting the device safely in the ear canal, to actually try to see anything, that IF you do, you end up with 5-10 minutes of decent battery life remaining. You can't plug it in to a charger during use, so a vicious circle is created if searching for a decent view, if you find one, there is no battery life to get back in to remove the wax. This product does not live up to the claims made about it. I have maybe gotten a clear view once, and it took me the entire 20-30 minutes of fully charged battery life to get there. Again, the app provided makes everything seem like a blurry pink, gray, or yellowish cloud(wax). The disk-like scraping tool-not the rounded scoop tools, broke while inside my ear. Luckily it did not break off. It is hanging on by a thread and can no longer safely be used. I was not using a large amount of pressure/force due to the inability of the app to focus, and provide a decent view, because I can't see well enough to confidently apply any pressure when removing wax. This product does not appear to be safe, and unless you are trained. The advertising makes it seem as if it will be easy to use, and that the view is clear-this is simply not the case. Leave the wax removal to the professionals, or truly risk damaging your inner ear with this thing. I have probably had it too long to return, but I am going to try. The last thing I need is a piece of plastic lodged in my ear canal, or to accidentally go in too deep due to horrible optics, that I rupture my eardrum. The only safe view is while using the black otoscope attachment, which will not allow you to go too far into the ear. And that can't be used with any other attachments, so you have to insert and remove multiple times, which the battery life does not support. In summary this is not a user friendly tool. It is one in which the user must have some prior training in order to manipulate properly. The camera/video app does not work well, providing a clear and focused view as shown In the advertising. Additionally, the tools need to be made from a softer plastic so they are more flexible, leaving the user with no residual pain after use. I think everyone who uses something like this without training is really placing the health of inner ear at risk. I was so excited to receive this, however, it has been met with nothing but disappointment. Quips seem safer, as they do not create pain if used properly. The interchangeable tips included with this device are cheaply made, they break during use, the scoop tools do not work well at all, the only tool that did work is the one that broke during use. And lastly, the tip becomes far too hot while using. Maybe this is why the battery drains so quickly, but the inner ear has very sensitive and delicate tissue, which is compromised by novice users. Anyone considering purchasing this..read ALL reviews, and make your decision wisely. Realize you ARE risking your inner ear health if you are not a trained audiological professional, or ENT Physician/Nurse. I thought I would be able to safely remove extra wax that makes my ears itch, but this tool has not provided a safe and alternative use to Q-Tips, and we all know that using a Q-tips for wax removal just doesn't work unless you happen to get lucky. You definitely get what you pay for with this device.

Highly Recommend
This is a great product. It takes clear images and allows you to easily examine ear wax and ear drum issues. I have been waiting for a product like this for years because my ears often feel clogged and I never knew if this was being caused by wax or something else. Now I know that it has been a combination of both. I do not have to wait for a doctor to figure out the problems and take action. I can now monitor ear wax build up and keep it under control. I used to wear ear plugs every night. I do not do this anymore because that was just shoving the ear wax deep into my ear canal. This otoscope takes videos as well as photos and this feature allowed me to discover that I have constant fluid behind one of my eardrums and this is causing that ear to always feel full. No doctor was ever able to tell me that. I am a scuba diver, so I am used to clearing my ears. When a took a video of my problem ear as I was clearing it, I could clearly see liquid bubbling behind the ear drum!
