Pfanstiehl LP Deluxe No-Static Vinyl Record Cleaning Brush with Carbon Fibers

Very nice brush that helps cut down static electricity as well as remove dust.Disclaimer:I am under no obligation to provide a positive review and received no incentives or rewards for doing so. For one thing, the fibers don't fall off the brush, and it does take most dust particles out of the record, it is solidly built, they used aluminum or some kind of metal which is good and bad, the good is that it makes the brush stronger, the bad is that if you're not extremely gentle while using it and you hit the record with an edge of it at an angle, you're more likely to live a permanent scratch on your record, it happened to me with the best album I have, brand new Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms", and now a long scratch on it from a miscalculated stroke. They should've used some kind of rubber in the bottom for protection.Over all, it's OK, not great, you will have to be very very careful while using it, keep it strait up, no tilting at all. I was going to give it one star but for the price I paid I didn't expect it to be made anywhere but China.

I use this as Step 1 for cleaning used records. First, I set this on the record and spin the record *backwards* a few times to dig the grit out of the groove, then blast this line of dirt with compressed air. Finally, if the condition of the record warrants it, I'll spray a lint-free cloth with 90% distilled water/10% Isopropanol (91% concentration) with a dot of dishwashing liquid then wipe the record (again, against the direction of play), to lift out the last of the grit. Once the record is clean (or if it's brand new), I'll only need this brush to keep the record clean each time I play it.

I've used it for a few weeks now, works as advertised. Not sure about the no-static properties though. Static only improved after I switched from felt to leather mat (see my other review). Also no substitute for a wet wash, not that was expected. I never play anything that I haven't washed and dried previously.

Read some reviews of other carbon fiber brushes so I was a little skeptic. Purchased this one to try on my old time code Vinyl before using it on my new MK2 from Traktor. My Turntables sit in my basement with vinyl on them without covers usualy even after cleaning I would have to clean my stylus after almost each full play. After using this stylus never really needed cleaning. I rest brush on vinyl hold then turn on Platter lift off while spinning.Love it

The only thing that would be better is if you could cover the bristles when you fold it. Other than that, this is great, i actually keep it inside of my record player off to the side.

So far a great job cleaning my vinyl records and also a great price.

Works well to sweep the album. I put the album on the platter, turn it on, and sweep toward the edge as it rotates. Good to go.
