Simply Stunning Pictures, Display and Endless Configurations! I'm an Amateur and LOVE this Camera!
I am a "professional" mobile phone picture taker as I think many from my generation are :-). Clearly there is a HUGE difference between cell phone cameras (including point and shoots) and this camera. I bought this hoping that having an android device attached to and powering a high end camera would allow me to kind of "fit right in". I DID JUST THAT! I feel at home with this thing and I'm able to take some extraordinary pictures that I never thought were possible and only within 5 minutes of turning the camera on!. Since the moment I turned this camera on I can honestly say I loved it, the interface is brilliant and the possibilities seem endless. Obviously I wont be taking professional photos any time soon and clearly my review wont mean much to a professional but I hope I can help another amateur camera person.Pros --Lightweight (I don't know why people say this is heavy, that's my inexperience I guess. When comparing to other SLR's I have held this is lighter and weighs around 1 LB 1 OZ w/o the lens)-Battery is incredible (I barely put a dent in the battery after taking a whole bunch of shots and playing around with the "tablet" for a few hours:-) )-Simply put, its EASY to use. Put it on AUTO or SMART and point and shoot. Its as capable in terms of settings as ANY SLR I have seen.-It takes incredible video!!-It uses a STANDARD Micro USB Cell Phone charger!! (This is so wonderful I cannot even begin to tell you!! You can get a charger ANYWHERE for under $5 which means having 5 extras is CHEAP)-You can use an External battery charger to charge the camera (Using a Micro USB cable from my power brick. This means you can charge the camera anywhere in the world as long as you have your backup battery/charger pumped up. Mine is 20,000 mah which means I can probably charger it to 100% 2 - 3 times)-View finder automatically activates when it senses your eye (this helps save battery from the screen)-If Samsung finds a problem they can fix it via Updates through android.-Android allows you to surf the web, check email, send texts, upload pictures anywhere, update the platform and everything else you can do on a regular android phone or tablet.-You can download OTHER camera applications such as "Paper Camera". This ability makes picture modification possibilities ENDLESS-You can edit videos and photos right on the camera though an app.-YOU CAN PLAY ANGRY BIRDS ON IT! (My point is that if it's possible on your phone its possible on this camera!)Cons --Mine didn't come with a case (not even sure if any do now a days)-While its auto focusing sometimes the screen gets a little jumpy (it didn't affect shots or video and I think it was in very low light only)-Cannot use other brand Lenses but Samsung has plenty to choose from (I tried Cannon's, apparently it's a proprietary connection and ALL camera manufacturers do this :-/)-View Finder doesn't detect your eye in very dark situations which means it doesn't activate (this happened a couple of times in a very dark room -but I just moved my eye away and back and it worked fine. It didn't happen every time)-In direct sunlight the screen can be hard to see even on full brightness. (I said hard but not impossible)Overall I think this is an amazing camera ESPECIALLY for someone who knows the Android operating system well.

Wow. Just Wow.
This camera has the potential to be so awesome. IF IT WORKED. Which it doesn't. Apps fail, and I mean Sumsung installed Apps designed for this camera!. When you try to export a video our of it, you just get "export failed" without explantion. There is no tech support docs online.I spent over an hour on the phone, bouncing around from one division to another with Samsung tech support. And the conclusion? NO ONE knew what the camera was. I had several people tell me that "You do not have a Samsung Galaxy Camera". (It's clearly printed on the front) I had another reading the Sumsung public website to check that I wasn't loony. They can't give support if they do not even know what it is. I talked to every division-- Galay camera, Galaxy tablets, point and shoot cameras, NX cameras, even Galaxy phones! -- NO One had a clue. One gentleman in "galaxy Cameras" wanted to send me back to Point and Shoot cameras, I said, "This is a DSLR, do you know what that is?" He said No.I talked to three different supervisors who promosed to stay on the line until I found the right person. Two never made it to the next transfer, the third gave up.This camera is before it's time. It is not ready for market. And Sumsung certainly isn't ready to support it. If you want to do simple things, go ahead and pay $1500 for it. Or buy a cheaper, simple camera. What have I learned? Don't buy bleeding edge tech from Samsung, they can't be trusted.

Game Changer - YES, but needs some refinement.
Game Changer - YES, but needs some refinement.Overall:This camera is a game changer in the convenience of modern home photography NOT in photo quality (the photo quality is not bad it's on-par with other APS-C sized cameras.) To explain it's what you can do once the picture is taken that makes it a game changer. And since you can add apps, and new Android Apps are being created and improved, so is what you can do with your camera.HERE IS WHAT THIS CAMERA CAN DO THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM ALMOST ANY OTHER CAMERA.1. I can post to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and all other social media sites immediately, without transferring the photo's off my camera (since the camera IS also a tablet) - Since you can simply install the app on the camera.2. The options you have to back up your photos go WAY beyond any other camera I know of since you can use ANY Android compatible app to back up your photos. I use Amazon Cloud Drive (I am an Amazon Prime Member) app which I installed on the Camera to automatically back up all photos from the Camera to my Amazon Photos account. I also do this from my iPhone, and my wife's iPhone. Simultaneously this makes any photo I've taken with any camera in out house instantly available on my Phone, my wife's phone, any computer, my work computer, my iPad...you get the picture (excuse the pun). Literally it's an unlimited dropbox for photo's that every photo we take goes into, and I can access it from everywhere...nice.3. There are also many other automatic backup apps for Android if you are not an Amazon Prime member.4. There is a plethora of things you can do with Android apps that I don't even know about - but if you can download the app, you can do it.5. It can use a SIM card - I don't use this, but you might like it, if you don't mind paying an extra $10 on your cell phone bill every month - but this would give your camera LTE connectivity virtually anywhere. Conversely, if you don't need this or don't want it also works just fine without it, my camera will simply wait until I'm connected to WiFi to sync with Amazon Photo's etc. If I really, really want to share a picture now, I can turn on my phone hotspot and connect my camera also. This stuff may not seem like a big deal to some, but for me it is HUGE. I'm a father of 3 kids and I want a good quality camera to capture these memories that will only happen once, and I also want to be able to easily share them with my parents, friends, etc. I realized some time ago that I was no longer using my SLR for hardly any picture taking anymore since there was simply too much lag time from when I would take a picture until when I would share it. It was silly that I was choosing to use an inferior camera on my phone to record events over a much better SLR simply because I could share them easier. Now with this camera I don't have to choose between sharing convenience and photo quality, I get both!PROS:1. Android operating system = Hundreds of thousands of apps that may be useful to sharing/backing up your photos.2. Wifi Connectivity for quick and free sync and backup of your photos.3. LTE connectivity capable - if you want it and don't mind paying for it - but not needed for a great user experience.4. The lens focusing motor is very quite - I have not noticed any noise on my photos from the lens focus motor - so you can realistically use this as a video camera.CONS: (This is why I gave it only 4-stars)1. The Camera takes a long time to turn on if it hasn't been on in the last 24 hours - causing you to miss cute photo's of your kids. (This MUST be fixed in the next iteration of this camera). It does have a "quick on" feature that keeps the camera in standby mode for up to 24 hours, this is fine. In quick standby mode it only takes a couple seconds to turn on, (probably fine most of the time), but if the Camera has fully shut down it takes a good 20-30 second to start up.2. The lens seems to hunt for the proper focus when being used in video mode - ESPECIALLY in low light. This really become annoying when you are shooting video and it is constantly going out of focus before coming back in focus. (Probably 4-5 times a minute in low light) - considering how much Samsung advertised the advance auto-focus system in this camera - I have to say I'm really disappointed in the autofocus.3. Maybe I'm just a spoiled iPhone user - but the touch screen for such an expensive camera doesn't seem very responsive. It really seems like a n Android from say 3-4 years ago, for the response time. When I purchased the camera I though maybe it would convince me to become an Android user, but just the opposite has happened. My iPhone seems much, much more refined and touch sensitive. Not sure if this is the Camera hardware or the Android operating system.4. The Price is too high for what it is. It's really a basic SLR camera (photo quality on par with a $500-700 Canon, Nikon, APS-C sensor sized camera, etc, but with all of the convenience of an Android phone/tablet.) I'd say that makes it worth $1000 tops including the 18-55mm lens. I paid $750 on Ebay including the 18-55mm lens - it was brand new - but I don't get the warranty, not that I've needed it yet.

Nice but. ....
I would have have it 5 stars but it had some defects , it would not shoot in darkness and it had other mechanical issues.
