Yes, Waxworms are widely recognised as a grub bait especially in Europe and America. Waxworms are becoming more popular with fishermen now in the UK and are used mainly for course fishing and they are particularly effective for trout fishing.

Yes about the same size as maggots, but I don’t know anything about fishing 🎣 it’s for feeding my dragon 🐉 👍

Q: (Q) How long do waxworms stay alive from receiving them in the post and how should they be stored?

I have kept mine for up to a couple of weeks in the container which I keep in the salad bin of the fridge but, it depends how many you buy; the more you buy the longer they last and if they last more than a day or two then you should feed and water them. They do come with enough food (usually bran) to last about a week but add a few slices of apple or potato so they have moisture to drink otherwise they'll dehydrate and lose their plumpness. If you don't want to take the time to care for them then just buy the smallest size with 50 waxworms... I usually put out a 15 or 20 at a time because my garden is next to 42-acres of wetlands and so, of course, there are a great many birds there who come into my garden and gobble these up quickly, especially the finches, yellow and blue-tits, robins, and sparrows. But for a regular garden, I would put out about 10 per day so they should last about 5-days and all you have to do is add a slice of apple. Of course, if you buy a large economy-sized container of waxworms then please remember to shake them gently in a sieve at least once a week to get rid of the poo and then add fresh bran and fresh slices of apple and or potato.

Can't Go Wrong with Waxworms!

Really great seller. They literally arrived next day, delivery was extremely speedy! Waxworms are always very popular with my reptiles, they literally run after them, it's the only thing they'll actually move for 😂 Fantastic quality, received no dead ones and i personally can't comment on flavour but judging on how fast my reptiles chase these down and wolf them down, i can guarantee they're delicious 😂
