Lee100 Filter Holder System is built well, performs well, and cust service is spot on!
So, I give LEE five stars for the quality of products but, more importantly, for their immediate and no-questions asked approach to customer service. The kit has three of the same sized rails while only having one of the single rails. Not a common quality control mistake but, it happened to me. How Lee responded warrants SIX STARS as they sent the product immediately with an entirely new kit. The customer service agent was quick and efficient, making this a pain free process. The quality of the filters is not in question here but, they are quite possibly the best filters I have ever used. The clarity is somewhat due to the quality of the holder in question, leaving no light leaks and keeping the expensive filters tightly in place without worry of them slipping out. The downside to quality has always been the cost - this is a decision, not a reason to give less than five stars. The quality is worth the price.

Much improved over the original holder
Works great. Stays locked in place or can rotate. Will not fall off like the original. Disappointed that Lee did not offer rebates for their original holder and CPL holder. They had flaws but didn't help their previous customers. If they had, I would give them 5 stars.

Lock Wastes Time
Hate the lock. It makes it impossible to remove the holder while wearing gloves in the cold. It wastes valuable time while in low light, rapidly changing light, rain or worse, because of fumbling and turning the lock into who remembers which position for release. For decades, the prior incarnation of the Lee filter holder had no lock. The lock is an imediment to photographers who actually use this filter holder in the landscape. Wise up and offer a version without a lock!

The old version is better
The old LEE100 holders were much nicer. My old boss had that system. Sturdier build and better filter holder. The locking mechanism for the ring is a nice addition, but not at the cost of everything else. On top of that, my CPL slides through the holder (see picture). I had centered the CPL, and the picture is about 20 seconds later. After a minute or two it would have completely fallen out if I wasn’t ready for it. The ND in the picture stayed there, but that is a cheap resin one, where the heavier glass ones (like the CPL) may have slipped as well. Before anyone says just turn it, I also have GNDs so orientation is important. If I can’t set this and let it run a time-lapse or something without worrying about the filters falling, the whole thing is useless to me. I’m going to shop around for a better holder, but may have to sadly ruin my filters with some tape if I can’t get a replacement holder that works quickly. Really disappoint by the way Lee clearly focused on cost of materials over quality control here, especially with how nice the model 1 was.

Ordered this with the new Lee polariser to replace my old Lee 100mm -holder, as I grew tired of the cumbersome system of using the combination of ring polariser with grads on the holder. The basic reasoning was that the renewed Lee 100mm polariser with this holder seemed more convenient than the old 105 polariser and adaptor ring. Other than that the knob locks are a nice addition, and it is of good quality, although not necessarily worth the upgrade especially if you already have the old Landscape polariser. If you have not invested in any filter system yet, this holder is easily the best option for any 100mm system, and besides other 100mm filters, obviously works great with Lee filters that are always a good bang for the buck.

doesnt feel as positive as the old one. but my old one fell off twice after catching my jacket. I would prefer to have the catch still made from metatal. but is certainly more secure now.
