Panasonic KX-FL511 High Speed, Up to 12 ppm, Laser Fax/Copier Machine

For our office, it makes sense to still have a fax machine. This is our second one - the first lasted for many years so I replaced it with the same make and model. We don't use the phone part of it and never have so I can't say how that really works. This fax holds a lot of paper for a fax machine which is a plus. It has the footprint of an inkjet printer, maybe a little smaller. It will make copies in a pinch which we have used once. The speed is pretty good. The printing is good. It uses copy paper. This easily fills our needs.

Good machine. Easy to set up and just right for our small business. Crisp, clean copies.

I bought a Panasonic KX-FL511 fax machine this February. It worked fine for 5 months, then start making loud grinding noises. I called 1-800-435-7329 Panasonic help line and did some test. They found that the gear from the drum unit are making the noises, and I asked if they can send me a replacement drum unit. Their answer is "Panasonic warranty only covers the machine (within 6 months), not the parts". They can sell me the drum unit for $116.00 plus shipping...(ridiculous). I also asked if I buy the drum unit from them, what is the warranty on the unit, and they answered "30 days"... What the .... FXXX

The company that sent this printer is great to do business with and our only disappointment was that we were expecting this Panasonic Printer, Fax to have an answering machine built-in like a previous model that we have had for fifteen years. It was easy enough to attach an answering device to it but was not exactly what we expected from Panasonic.

I purchased this fax machine on 5/12/2010 from Amazon.com. It was the 2nd panasonic fax machine I have purchased. The last one lasted 4 yrs. This one is not as good and Panasonic tech support isnt very helpful. At first they blame my tele line, which is a joke. They don't seem to care to offer solutions, and some how they disconnect from the telephone when it suits them. If we dont get satisfaction soon, I will call American Express and stop payment or have charges reversed. Panasonic has to learn to be more customer friendly.

I have had this machine for years. Paper jamming is the main problem. Also now and then it pulls more than one paper. Some external parts made of plastic are cheap and break easily. You have to clean rollers often with rubbing alcohol and qtiips often to stop jamming. Some of these rollers are hard to reach.

Good product by Panasonic, as this unit has been around for years. Only issue(s) that customer has had, has been with paper jamming, more than one document being pulled into fax machine at one time. Have experienced identical issues with previous Panasonic KX-FL511 High Speed fax machines. Appears to be a systematic/problematic issue,

We are very satisfied with this fax machine. We have owned it about 1 month now. The machine is used multiple times daily. The ink replacement costs are reasonable and the functions available on this machine are all we need. This machine replaces a new fangled HP color blah blah blah that cost a FORTUNE to keep full of ink and required print head cleaning on a daily or more basis and paper jams constantly. You couldn't give us another HP product, but this Panasonic is a real work horse. Oh, and you will be blown away by the print quality!
