An excellent food for Parrotlets!
This is the best food I’ve found for my 21/2 year old Parrotlet. I’ve not found a specific Parrotlet food, but my breeder recommended a Cockatiel food. I tried a few brands, and this is Pinky’s favorite. I store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh, because obviously, she eats like a bird. Although the majority of what’s in her dish gets flung out -not eaten. I’ve sat by her cage and watched her eat for hours, and find it hilarious. Parrotlets are incredibly picky eaters. There is one small white seed in the mixture-for fun, let’s call it “the Snow White seed”. Pinky sifts through the seeds with her beak, inch by inch, eating only the Snow White seeds! I can peel and offer her a sunflower seed, and she turns her back on me! When I cannot spot anymore of SW’s, I empty out her seed dish, and refill it-and watch her attack it like she’s starving! Obviously, all I’m positive she eats are the Snow Whites! I offer her chop, and fresh fruit-she’s never been interested. Except to turn it tiny bits and fling the stuff all over the place! They are by nature seed eaters. Many people have more luck getting their Parrotlets to eat chop. But Pinky has never wanted it.

Phenomenal food
This product is the best, I see the price is discouraging to some people, BUT I used to make my own mix and the price was way more. My birds love it, from cockatiels, parakeets to Conures. It looks great and smells like I want to eat it. Definitely will be ordering monthly. Customer service was excellent and very knowledgeable about birds. Hopefully they make a mid size bird food…for ringneck size birds. Buy it!

My Cockatiels' Favorite Food
I'm a long-term purchaser of this seed and highly recommend it. Wish I could give it 6 stars. I started with their website and was happy to find them here on Amazon. I've been buying it from here for years. My birds love this seed. I've weathered the quality control times of too much raisins, too much sunflower seeds, large sizes of ingredients. This product has come a long way and my birds loved it through all of that. Keep in mind, if you give your bird more than they can eat in one day then no brand is good for them. They will only eat what they want and leave everything else behind, which means they are only getting some of the nutrients the blend is providing. You should weigh what you give your bird in the morning, then weigh it again at night. The difference is about what you should be giving that bird per day, give or take a bit. It will take some time for them to get used to having to eat what they usually don't, but if you keep giving them that smaller amount they'll learn that the rest of the mix is food and eat it. The more of the blend they actually eat, the healthier they will be. Most frequent complaint: Cockatiels don't like sunflower seeds. Really? That's the first seed my flock goes for. I use sunflower seeds as treats. When the seeds are too large, or too plentiful, I pick them out and fill the treats container. ALL my birds will take those seeds from my hand, even the timid ones. I have two pet store birds, two I raised, and a rescue. The rescue and the recent store bird only ate millet and oat groats when I got them. I did a lot of research on seeds for my birds and spent a lot of time making my own blend before I found this great cockatiel blend. Even if you take the time to customize it for your bird, it's well worth the time and the cost. Previous Review: I keep looking for a cockatiel food that is comparable to or better than this one. I haven't found it yet so I'm still buying this one. It has no artificial colors or flavors added. And it's full of the seeds cockatiels look for in their food dish first. Then it has fruit and vegetable pieces they can and should eat. I see a few complaints about the sunflower seed content and I have noticed that the volume of sunflower seeds has gone down. My cockatiels love the sunflower seeds so I'm glad to see they are still included, but I limit the number of those seeds in their food dish. I use that seed as a treat for both my cockatiels and my lovebird so I pick them out of their food dish and only leave 2 per bird. My setup is one dish per bird so this works out pretty fairly. They eat that seed first so they each get first dibs on the sunflower seeds in the first dish they get to. I've also noticed that the coconut appears to have been reduced. I miss the bigger pieces but it must be blended into the mix better. I love giving my birds what they will eat for the day and coming home to seed hulls and happy birds every day.

Great food for my cockatiel
This is the only food my cockatiel will eat. I've bought him a different brand of food to give him and this is his absolute favorite. It's definitely high quality food. The only thing is that it's a bit pricey. I don't know if I'll be able to continue to purchase this food for the long run.

Highly recommend for anyone seeking healthier seed mix ingredients!
I switched from Vita Seed Natural Blend, purchased at PetSmart, to Dr. Harvey’s Colossal Cockatiel Food after learning that Vita Seed contains sugar, which isn’t ideal for a bird’s health. The recommendation for Dr. Harvey’s was spot-on—its blend of natural seeds, nuts, fruits, and vegetables is free of harmful additives and offers superior nutrition. My cockatiel took to it immediately. I pair it with Harrison’s High Potency Fine pellets.

Read my review.
The bag had been sliced about two inches, and about a cup of seed was loose in the box. I cannot imagine how mailing a short distance caused this. The box was intact with no cuts. Still a good bird food, but for the price, I’m bewildered as to what happened
