This is legit my favorite every day cologne. I used to buy this at Macy’s for $80 a bottle so I’m so glad it’s dropped in price. It’s VERY strong and long lasting. If you can figure out a way to do a half spray, that’s PLENTY strong to last all day. It’s kind of a fruity, lemony smell, so if you’re not into that... move along. It’s also a very clean, fresh scent so it probably won’t be something you wear out at a club or anything. That being said, this is a perfect every day cologne and such a good value for the money.

HM by Hanae Mori for men is such a wonderful classic fragrance for any man on any occasion. I chose this EDT Spray for my boyfriend as a Christmas present because he really loves the classic Obsession for Men, and I wanted to give him something in the same fragrance family (Woodsy-Oriental) that was a bit lighter/softer to add to his collection. The fragrance is warm and sexy, yet soft and sensual. The dry-down fragrance is much different than when first sprayed (when first sprayed it seems a bit strong and sharp) - so, as any fragrance afficionado knows, do not be alarmed - you should spray the fragrance in the air and walk through it for a lighter scent (spraying an additional bit on pulse points - inner elbows, wrists, and chest for a heavier scent) and allow to dry down for a few minutes for fragrance perfection! The HM box and bottle is also amazing and very classy - black box, frosted glass, platinum lasered lettering and a cap that is reminiscent of the end of a samaurai sword. This fragrance and its packaging looks and smells far more expensive than the Amazon price tag. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a Woodsy-Oriental fragrance for themselves or as a gift for the man in their life!

I've been wearing one scent for a few years (Chrome by Azzaro). It is my signature scent and I get compliments on it all the time. I haven't been impressed with much else lately either. That is, until I was shopping at a local mall and came across Hanae Mori for Men. It was a sample bottle at the register and I absentmindedly picked it up for a sniff and put it back down. While standing there over the next few minutes, I picked it up another four or five times! I almost bought it right then and there but decided to wait. The scent haunted me for days and I finally ordered some EDT samples online for just a few dollars (bought at an auction site, great way to try new fragrances btw). When the package arrived I sprayed my palm one time and rubbed my hands together. Do NOT do that. It is a very strong, sweet fragrance. It pervaded the house and made my wife say things like "what the heck did you do that for?!? Now I have a headache!" Use this very sparingly. It goes on strong and permeates the air around you like a cloud. However, after about an hour, it settles down to a really nice scent. A little sweet but masculine too. It is not subtle unless you put micro amounts on (which is difficult with a spray sample). I put my finger up against the nozzle, very carefully press half a spritz out, and use just two fingers to apply it to my neck and wrists. Then I rinse my hands off. This gives me just the right amount to smell great but not let everyone know I'm coming 10 minutes before I arrive. The scent is very familiar... it reminds me of a combination of Calvin Klein Obsession for Men, and a cologne my grandfather used to wear called Tuscany. Both of these are nice, but the HM is more refined and complex, in my opinion. I really like it and will follow up by reporting the feedback I get from others as I wear it more often...stay tuned. Update March 2013: Starting to get compliments when I wear this scent. My wife really likes it a lot now too. It becomes very subtle as the day goes by, but seems even better later in the day. Update May 2013: Just about ran out of the samples I had. Bought a 3 oz EDT bottle and it just arrived. I love this scent! I have to say that the new bottle seems to smell even better than the samples I had.

I wear this daily. It is subtle yet engaging with a fresh, colorful scent. I'm not an expert, but it smells like citrus flowers, yet very masculine. Paul Bunyan would NOT wear this chopping wood but he would if he went to the office. It is a clean smell, and perfect for office and engaging with the public. I have worn several different types of cologne before, including some high end and popular brands. But, this one FITS ME. I have received several compliments (from all genders) and that certainly makes me feel good, but really cologne and body type are what matters, and this cologne matches by body and profession very well. When people ask what cologne I am wearing, its a great conversation starter about who made this, which is actually the same guys who started H&M, but its their names, not initials. My only gripe is that it doesn't last more than 5-6 hours, but since its fairly light (not a large amount of oils), that is understandable. I have a 3.4oz bottle at home, and carry the 1.7oz (good for travel) with me at all times in my backpack.

I am very particular about the scent I wear, I am a sales professional and I also have to work outdoors on a regular basis, I have clients from all walks of life. I detest strong scents and also not very fond of feminine type of scents. Hanae Mori I found to be a very pleasant and mild scent which at the same time is masculine. The good thing about this scent is that it lasts a very long time, meaning it is good for the entire work day. It does not call attention to itself and women will not be swarming like bees to its smell. I have in the past and even now been using scents like, Fahrenheit, Kouros, Paco Robane, Givenchy and Aramis. I am old school and If you are the type who likes the scents I mentioned, Hanae Mori will certainly appeal to your taste. This is the second bottle that I have bought from Amazon. I have no issues with it whatsoever. As long as you buy from Amazon itself and not from marketplace you should rest assured you will get the right product.
