Works great to glue detached soles from shoes!
My favorite Timberland boat shoes have this unfortunate tendency to have the rubber soles come off - about half of them do this eventually. Shoe Goop had long been the glue I used to re-attach the soles, but it wasn't very good, mainly because it took too long to dry and the bond wasn't very strong - while it was drying it also had a tendency to let the sole slide around out of position. Anyway, this stuff worked great. It dries very fast, and the sole stuck on and stayed in place immediately. I put some clamps and compression on and the glue was dry by the next day. Haven't tested the durability much yet, I'll re-post if the sole comes off. This is a VERY FAST DRYING elastic cement! It is not really a contact cement, and in any case I've never found contact cements to work like they are supposed to (apply to both sides, let dry partially, then clamp the two parts). In my experience, the cement bond for alleged contact cements usually fail if you let the two sides dry even partially, and so it is really always better to just clamp immediately. The instructions in the video on this webpage may be from Angelus, but if you follow those instructions, they are going to make it highly likely that the bond fails! Do NOT let the two sides dry! Clamp immediately after applying the glue to both sides! So, ignore all these low rating reviews posted by glue newbies who were probably following the video instructions and just don't know any better. Correction to the Addendum: 12/1/2024 Well, I said I would re-post if the sole came off again from the Timberland shoes, and, what do you know, I got my left - right mixed up and it turned out that it was the left shoe, which had never been glued, that had half the sole peel off. The right shoe was the one that had the sole come half off, and was the one I glued with this Angelus Cement back in February. And that sole is STILL INTACT! So, apologies to Angelus for the mistake. I did glue the sole of the left shoe with Barge's Cement, and so now I have a reference for comparison between the two. Back to a five star rating. Addendum #2: More of the left sole of this shoe started separating. I think this was in a part of the sole that had not separated yet, so it's not the Barge's Cement. Anyway, I spot glued this part of the sole with the Angelus cement and it is doing fine.

This Stuff Means Business — Sandals Saved!
When they said cement, they weren’t kidding! I had a pair of sandals with decorative jewels all around the edges, and the front part started coming loose. I used this Angelus Clear Shoe Cement, and it worked like magic. Application was easy, and once it dried, the sandals looked good as new — no visible glue marks and everything held firmly in place. Weeks later, they’re still going strong with zero signs of coming apart. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty, clear-drying fix for shoes or accessories, this stuff delivers. Highly recommend for repairs that actually last!

Great glue and sealant
I wasn't sure this was going to work for my particular application, but, it worked great! I had recovered the heel of my boot with suede strips that had chunked off (the boots are very old) and I needed to seal the heel to match the other boot heel which was smooth and shiny. This did the trick and it looks great! I'll get another 2 years out of these boots now! It dried quickly too!

Great for keeping your shoes usable
I bought this to try my hand at resoling a pair of clogs I have, which did not go super well, but I still love this stuff. Now that I have it, I always notice when pieces of my sneakers start separating from the soul, and it is super easy to unscrew the cap off this glue, apply a little bit to the shoe, and after it dries, your shoes are almost as good as new. For anyone who wants to get the most life out of their shoes, this is a must have!

Not what I expected
So this definitely not shoe ‘cement’ in that it’s not contact cement (like a true shoe product) but appears to be some formulation of a PVC glue. To be fair it’s probably fine for basic repairs but for re-gluing a sole it’s pretty useless in my opinion. Almost no open time, a trait shared with plumbing products that smell nearly identical. Not sure if I can return it or not but would really like to.

One time use
Works great, but just like several other reviews when I went to use it the second time it was unusable, turned solid. Glad I didn't buy the 30.5 fl oz. for $47 for one time use!

Finally, a shoe repair product that really works well.
This product actually does what it is supposed to do. Follow the directions and it will work. My initial dry time before putting the pieces together was much shorter than suggested. It was getting pretty dry and tacky so I clamped them together. After a full 24 hours the repair was stuck to stay. I've been wearing the shoes showing them no mercy, and there is no indication of coming back apart. This repair was where the original stitching had failed. I have repaired two other pairs of shoes, one with the bottom half way off. I'm getting more use from otherwise throw away shoes. This product may seem a little pricey, but I have spent way more on other products that fail after a couple of uses. I have one more shoe to repair and will be looking for other uses for this great product. It will be interesting to see how long the shelf-life is in the can. Time will tell. But no matter, when I have shoes to repair, I'm using Angelus Clear Shoe Cement. I'm glad I took a chance on buying this product. Update: It's been over a month and this adhesive is still holding on 3 major repairs. Great stuff !!!

I bought this as my fairly new work boots had soles that were coming away. I used the glue after cleaning the area and so far so good they have held together perfectly.
