Works great with Avital remote starter on a 2008 Mercury Mariner. Self installed.
After getting quotes in the $300 and up range to have a remote start installed, I looked into doing it myself. I am a fairly handy guy and have done some car wiring before. The biggest thing is to do some research ahead of time and plan all the connections out. I installed this on a 2008 Mercury Mariner Premier. The installation guide can be found online with a simple google search. I used alldata.com to get my car's wiring diagrams and connector locations. I used the Avital 4103LX remote starter. Prep work took a couple of hours ahead of time to tie off wires I wouldn't need and make connections between the remote starter and the bypass. Actual installation took a good 6 hours in total. Programming took 5 minutes at most. If you are handy, can solder, have access to and can read wiring diagrams, this is definitely a doable project. The bypass works great and I got it programmed on the first try. You need two working keys to program this unit, but you don't have to leave one in the unit. Can't beat the price!

Excellent Bypass Unit
I recently bought the Python 991 Responder LC3 SST Security/Remote Start System and didn't know I needed an immobilizer bypass unit till the installer informed me. I wanted to have the installation done quickly so went on Amazon the same day and located the PKALL Encrypted Key Data Transponder Bypass Kit. It had excellent reviews so I ordered it with one day shipping. Got the unit the next day and had the alarm system installed. The bypass kit connects directly to the brain of the Python alarm system as well as the brain of all the major brands, so no special connections were needed. Since the installation, my vehicle starts, on queue, every time I press the remote start button on my alarm system's remote. Once started, I am able to drive off without shutting off the car and restarting with the key, just by putting the key into the ignition and turning it to the start position. It works so well that the company that installed my alarm, uses the PKALL bypass kit for most installations and recommends it to their customers. This is an excellent product and I highly recommend it.

a nice surprise living in Alaska
Ok. The 4 stars is an overall rating considering the price. I'm going to try to unbiasedly explain my entire experience up to this point with it. Unboxing: packageing wasn't even damaged, a nice surprise living in Alaska. I was unimpressed to see they left the handle uninstalled to save an inch on packageing. I thought, no biggie I'll just put it on.... The handle: the handle is a necessary part on a little portable buzz box like this so I was definitely going to install it. But the screws had already been ran down into the sheet metal at the factory, in fact, so hard or fast they stripped the top threads off the screw so you have to push from the back side to remove it. So into the welder i went, 5 minutes later upon opening it up I was impressed to see actual silicone sleeves on wires, a nice touch, but at this point while retrieving the screws I considered returning it if this was how the experience was going to be. I installed the handle and carried on. Power: I bought various 3/32 rods and started with 6011s. I was furious at first. It would stick on low power, or turn the flux black as coal and catch fire on high, the only 2 settings this thing possesses. 7018s ran decent on low. 6913s were BEAUTIFUL on low. After burning about 15lbs worth of 3/32 rods, I decided to buy some 1/8 6011 since I've been impressed for the price so far. At first it was no Bueno. Then I installed a 30A plug on the welder. It turned it into a beast. 1/8 6011? No problem, I ran them ROD AFTER ROD AFTER ROD for about 3lbs worth building a race car frame addition. Never overheated once. In fact it runs these better than any of the 3/32 rods, but that's about all it'll suffer that was running it full bore. It's got juice: while running those 1/8 rods, I wasn't wearing gloves. Boneheaded move I know but look past it. I've gotten a few tingles on low before welding in the rain, barely tickled, on high? I walked an arc across the back of my left hand accidentally, the thing has some guts if you can get it enough power but don't learn like me, wear gloves, especially on high.

Works great, professionally installed
I had originally purchased this along with an Avital 4113LX Remote Start system to work with a 2004 4Runner. I was able to keep both my keys and valet, so yeah, I've got all three keys still. The installer had a little trouble installing it, he claims using the spare keys are easier and he hadnt installed a PKALL unit for months. But the PKALL unit along with the Avital 4113 worked great and took about an hour to install. Worked great but my factory alarm kept going off when the car started but thats a different story. Bottom line is the DE PKALL unit worked perfectly with my 2004 4runner WITHOUT having to flash new firware.

I know nothing about electronics!
**I did not install this myself so my review is based on cost, research, feedback, and use** I was nervous about buying something online but I read the reviews on Amazon, did some cost analysis amongst other websites, and thought, "what the heck, why not?" With Amazon's amazing customer service, and for the price that this was selling for, I knew that I wasn't taking on much of a risk. I'm glad I did my research and I ordered this bypass kit with the Avital (Avital 4103LXL Remote Start System with Two 4-Button Remote) remote start system. I am not knowledgable with after market car extras (I keep everything stock in my cars; I'm boring...I know) but the installer told me the set that I bought was a good set. I've had no issues with this bypass kit. It does what it's supposed to do and at a great price!
