I have found this book is good for visual learners. It does not really provide detailed instructions on how to complete sketches but seeing outlines and sketches, if you have a basic level of artistic skill and observation technique, the ideas are clear enough to help you construct lines and shapes in your own fashion designs. There is a good range of silhouettes and styles to help inspire budding designers! Please remember, this is not a 'How-to' guide, but instead provides useful reference images.

…had I known that this kind of thing was possible back on the day when I tried to do fashion/costume design back in my youth, my life seriously would have taken a completely different turn. Like wow. So: if you are a person who wants to make costumes or fashion related designs, (this is the important part) AND YOU CANNOT DRAW, this is your savior. Had these been around in like 1977, when I was desperate for this kind of template/croquis aid…. My life would have taken a different turn. Interesting things.

Since Haute Couture is very detail oriented, every fold. seam, and embellishment is in extremely fine focus!
